(HF) hamill riewoldt x Clarke

(FF) kosi gehrig milne

(em) mcqualter thompson gardiner

Agree apart from Fiora starting rather than Harvey and Gardiner not starting on the bench

- IMO montagna deserves to start instead of x clarke at half forward, he's much more consistent and can kick goals.

- I think we need a bonified secondary ruckman to assist m clarke. Gardiner would be the best option as he can play forward and hoepfully will provide a target around the ground if need be.

- This suggests blake would get the ass, he has been good this year and actually has a very good motor, but i'd rather have 2 back up mids (Harvey, Clarke) on the bench with a ruckman (Gardiner) and the 4th player (Voss) on the bench we can swing forward or back.

- I'v also liked our use of attard taking the best small forward and baker taking the best mid in the middle. Baker very underatted IMO, great option in and under to release the likes of dal santo/montagna to play more outside.

I wish we could get that team on the park MSG would be awesome to watch...

Dont kid yourself guys, even with that full line-up I just dont think we have got what it takes to compete at the moment.

  • Milne, Gerhig are always there and arent really helping us
  • Montagna isnt really bringing much to the table, he'd be a good player off the bench to add some run
  • We have had all our on-ballers available. Ball is getting knocked around but thats part of who he seems to be now, and Hayes is getting worn. Still playing pretty good however.
  • We are missing 3 big names in our backline but I dont think that is our problem recently. We just dont move the ball well enough from half back and it doenst have a lot to do with them.
  • A bench of Clarke, Blake, Thompson and Fiora isnt much chop. There is no run to come on there... no toughness... no match-winners...
  • We are still 2-3 good runners and ball movers and a solid back-flanker from a decent team I feel

Fiora doesn't run? Thompson isn't tough?

The reason there aren't any match-winners there is because if players can win you matches, you start them on the ground!

I reckon Voss is a bit stiff to not named, I'm a bit biased but I would rate him above Blake, Fiora and Thompson

If you say so.

Thompson is on the verge of retirement and is pretty much done. Fiora shows some great signs... I like him... thats one. Blake and M.Clarke are both bigmen. Blake is irratic and just doesnt have a role and M.Clarke can do only one thing... ruck taps... thats it... nothing else, brings a lot to the table.

So when we get an injury... players get tired... we need some run... its a one-stop shop hey mate? Fiora? haha. Good on ya

Look at the better teams benches in round 5:

PA: Bentley, Krakouer, Lonie, Pettigrew
WC: Rosa, Seaby, Staker, B.Jones
Dogs: Ray, Power, Higgins, Robbins
Coll: Burns, Davis, O'Brien, Bryan

You need at least 2-3 solid runners coming off your bench. Not one boarderline player who would struggle for a game on another club (Fiora) and a player in his last year on his last legs with no speed (Thompson)

Bentley? Pettigrew? Krakouer is a stick figure and Lonie is very similar to Fiora except that he isn't quick.

Rosa is similar to McQualter (except taller), Seaby has nothing on M.Clarke, Staker is a hack and Brett Jones is just an ok player (like a less reliable Leigh Fisher).

The Dogs bench is excactly the same as the rest of their team. Quick, skilled, soft front-runners.

Burns is just a younger Thompson, Davis is a crap version of Milne, O'Brien is a good defender and Bryan has half the work-rate of Lance Whitnall.

You comments on the opposing players prove you know little about football. I want if respond to that.

Despite the fact that your final sentence is a grammatical and syntactic mystery I'll attempt to respond.

Other then his take on the WCEagles he's not too far off. Compare any squad to the Eagles and the Eagles would win. That's why they're premiers.

As for M.Clarke only gives you ruck taps... Good! That's what I want from my ruckman!

This is pretty good but just for the sake of the exercise:

B:L. Fisher Hudghton S.Fisher
HB: Gram Goose Goddard
C: Fiora Lenny Montagna
HF: Harvey Roo X Clarke
FF: Kosi G-Train Milne
Foll: M. Clarke, Dal, Ball
Pine: Blake, Baker, Thommo, Voss.

(Blake to ruck, Baker to change through backs and mid, Thommo to change through mid, Voss to change back or forward. Moving Voss to HF to free Harvey or Baker into BP allowing L Fish to relieve Goddard on the HF and he could go wing to push Joey into mid and allow a heavy rotation through for fresher legs.)

EMG: Gardiner, Hammill, R Clarke

(Emergencies are obviously all frequent or long-term injuries. Best possible case scenario Gardiner would go on for Blake, Hammil would go on for Banger who'd move to the bench and deop Thommo, R Clarke could come onto the bench for Voss or remain emergency.)

Gee I wish I could see it!

What a load of shit

To be honest we will never have out best team up and running this season. I cant see us going injury free for that long it would be good but wont happen. If we don't lose any big name players from here to when Hayes returns we should have a pretty good team.
