Can't imagine how many times this has already been done but I thought seeing as we're heading into the finals and potentially the best chance we've had since '63 of taking the flag, what is your best 22? Here's mine..

B: Milburn Scarlett Harley
HB: Mackie Egan Wojo
C: Corey Bartel Rooke
HF: Stokes Mooney Selwood
F: Chapman N Ablett S Johnson

Rucks: Ottens Ling G Ablett
Int: Blake Kelly Enright Hunt

Emerg: Tomahawk D Johnson Varcoe Prismall

Byrnes and Playfair are gone as far as I'm concerned. Byrnes, whilst he has pace to burn, just can't kick for shite and poor old Henry. Just doesn't cut it. I've always liked Prismall so stuck him in as an emergency and thought Nathan was a bit more stable at full forward than the Tomahawk. Tough choice but come 2-3 years time, bloody hell it's going to be a nightmare picking between those two.

Thoughts?

Apart from some [ very ] minor tinkering with the way they're lined up I agree 100%, think they're the best 22 we can put on the park.

Nathan will have to continue with the form he displayed in the first half of Sundays game though or his spot could come under scrutiny.

Don't see it as a nightmare really, provided they both develop as we hope they will, both Nathan and Tom will be lining up together for many years to come. :thumbsu:

B: Milburn Scarlett Harley
HB: Mackie Egan Enright
C: Corey Bartel Wojcinski
HF: Chapman Mooney Rooke
F: Stokes N Ablett SJohnson
Rucks: Ottens Ling GAblett
Int: Blake Selwood Prismall JHunt

Emerg: Kelly Tomahawk D Johnson

I'd possibly put Prismall in ahead of Kelly because Kelly still does little stupid things around the ground and just makes errors at times. the only other position is JHunt against DJohnson which id keep hunt in the side

Thoughts?

First 18 spot on in my opinion (Mackie is slowly growing on me)

Int: Blake Selwood D.Johnson J.Hunt

Emerg: Kelly Prismall Gardiner (Charlie over Tomahawk only cause Tommy isn't fit enough)

Agree with the 18 on the field however i think Kelly is a better prospect than D. Johnson. Whilst Johnson is a hard nut, Kelly looks more comfortable at AFL level and if he could just work on his disposal would be even more valuable to our team line up.

I'd have King instead of Blake.

B: Milburn Scarlett Harley
HB: Mackie Egan Enright
C: Corey Bartel Wojcinski
HF: Selwood Mooney S.Johnson
F: Chapman N.Ablett Stokes

Int: King Rooke Kelly Hunt

With a fit Rooke that is our best team. If Rooke doesn't come up I would put Varcoe in.

Kelly is in front of Pris IMO. He has shown this year what he can do, when he puts his skills and mind to it. I believe Pris needs to look and see if he can reinvent himself a bit, seeing as though Ablett and Chappy revolve into the midfield also.

Going to be tough for Pris to get a game without any injuries in the senior side, which is sad as he is not a bad player.

Would like to see Vegas into the emergencies, I believe he can really add something special (said like Bruce), to our best 22.

King in stead of Blake, Prismall in stead of Kelly (not for these finals but if it was mid-season i'd make the swap)

Emergencis:Kelly Blake DJ

Hi guys. writing for the first time. I might be the first Korean writing here or having the Cats' membership.. hehe.. anyway..
I think that we still need Vacoe for our best 22. Besides he was not that bad last week. All tall guys except Stokesy for forwards..would be very slow in defending opponents playing towards thier 50s.
By the way, sorry about my English.. not perfect obviously as you can see.. hehe bye!! :p

A darn-sight better than a lot of other posters on BF!! Well done, and welcome. :thumbsu:

Sellwod, Champman and Dog are also smallish forwards you realise? Don't think Trav is in our best 22 just yet, next year maybe. Welcome to BF by the way!!

Selwood is 100% not a small forward. Clearance warrior in the style of Joel Corey (best comparison on our current list, anyway).

Not bad
But on form King for Blake - cant believe i said that.
And although he hasnt been sighted for the second half of the year, I would be tempted, for the finals, to replace Enright with Prismall. I think he has more grunt, and you need that for finals games.
otherwise def going to take a shot at the title with that lineup......

Great thing about the cats is the best 22 is now pretty clear. Only:
Blake vs King
Hunt vs David Johnson
Kelly vs Prismall
and Rooke's fitness are area's of contention. At this stage I think consensus is Blake, Hunt, Kelly and Rooke (if fit).

I would have:

FB: Milburn Scarlett Harley
HB: Enright Egan Mackie
C: Corey Bartel Chapman
HF: Kelly Mooney Rooke
FF: Stokes N.Ablett, Steve Johnson
R: Ottens, Ablett, Ling
Int: Blake Selwood Wojcinski Hunt

Fantastic team with no weakness and a lot of flexibility, perhaps N.Ablett can at times under perform but if he is on song he is a very valuable player.

Noted that he is an up and coming midfeild star, he has spent time playing on a forward flank this year at times however. Which lead me to group him with our other small forwards. :)

He's a Gun!

I think in most other teams he'd be getting tagged by now but
how can you tag Selwood, Ablett, Bartel and Corey:eek:

Good luck to the rest of the comp over the next few years.

If he did get tagged, I'd like to see push deep forward and outmark
his opponent in the same way that Ling goes forward.

Symptoms of the dreaded Prismall-lust include:

A desire to replace an experienced half-back who possesses excellent play-reading skills with an essentially untried midfielder - for the finals.
