Best Japanese Restaurant - Adelaide

Looking for some local knowledge.

Have had some great dining experiences in Adelaide but don't know of any doing great Japanese. Anyone?

favourite one would have to kenji resturant on hutt st, the wagyu beef was awesome, another one is "wasai" down some ally way off gouger st

I read up on Kenji but always get a bit funny with places making self-proclaimations about their status - "one of Adelaide's finest Japanese" restaurants. I'll check it out nonetheless

I'll also check out Wasai, I love the out of the way places.

I've been to a Chinese restaurant alongside the market of Gouger (I know there's a few there in the mini chinatown bit) but this place had great food and recall lunch was fairly quiet bar the St Kilda coaching staff on another table over to play one of the SA teams

Yeah Wasai is good.

Theres always Shiki at the Hyatt as well, which is pricey, but excellent.

Matsuri on Gouger isnt too bad either.

There's actually a restaurant called Shiki in Greensborough, where I sometimes dine out. Good food, pretty cheap (soup + entree + main will cost you around $20 - $25) and really fast service. If you're ever around in the NE suburbs of Melbourne, I'd recommend it.
