Most sitcoms have made at least one Christmas episode during their run. So which one is the best?

For me I think The Office (UK) takes the cake. Brought the two series together perfectly. I can't wait to see what Gervais and Merchant have up their sleeves for Extras.

The Vicar of Dibley have had a couple of quality specials as well.

Anyone who doesn't say the UK Office christmas specials is a human being of poor quality.

1. Office special
2. (Spot reserved for this years Extras special);)
3. Simpsons roasting on an open fire the first full length Simpsons episode. Seriously a great and funny pilot

1. Office
2. (Space reserved for Extras christmas special)
3. Simpsons Roasting on an open fire the first fulll length episode. Truly a great episode. Made all the more relevent for me as my friend has a dog racing this christmas eve :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Everybody Loves Raymond have made a few good ones.

An early Happy Days episode where The Fonz spent xmas by himself was kind of poignant although not hilariously funny.

The Worst Christmas of My Life (Xmas special of The Worst Week Of My Life) which is currently on is one of the funniest things I have I ever seen.

These are some I liked:

Married with Children spoof of "It's a Wonderful Life" (It's a Bundyful Life).
Simpson's full length pilot.
Any Futurama Christmas episode.
Blackadder.
That 70s Show (An Eric Forman Christmas).
Scrubs (My Own Personal Jesus).
My Name is Earl (White Lie Christmas).
Happy Days episode mentioned by black_hart - Fonzie's first Christmas with the Cunninghams.

Oh and I don't like The Office and I am a quality human being.;)

The Worst Christmas of My Life (Xmas special of The Worst Week Of My Life) which is currently on is one of the funniest things I have I ever seen.
Fantastic show.

The Christmas special isn't as good as the two original "weeks" but it's still quality.

Very underrated.

Apart from The Office specials, which were sublime and will never be matched as an ending, A Dads Army Chrissy special called 'My Brother and I" where Arthur Lowe plays Mainwaring and Mainwaring's older brother. It's one of the best acting performances I've seen.

Fetivus from Seinfeld has a cult following

"I find tinsel distracting":D

Hahaha. I really must get the aluminium pole out! :D

I can't believe no one has mentioned "ALF Xmas Special" yet. Hehe. Kidding.
As already said, The Office one was brilliant, as were The Simpsons ones.

Got that DVD recently, but haven't had a chance to watch it yet. Porridge had a couple of quality christmas specials as well.

Airing of grievences and Feats of strength!

Dr. Van Nostrand!
Yes, that's right.

Jerry dating the 2 face, great episode.

much love for the office and the festivus episode of seinfeld...

i'd also throw in the simpsons episode that has gary coleman from diff'rent strokes guest star...
"whatchoo talkin' bout everyone!!"
gets me everytime.

The Boondocks:

"Dear Santa,

You are a bitch fellow.

*crosses out*

Dear Santa,

You are a bitch ass fellow. I heard the mall is hiring extra security to protect you. That's a bitch move, santa. I'm comin for that ass again until you pay what you owe."

"Don't look at Quincy Jones! Quincy Jones ain't gonna help y'all! Now get your asses out!"

Festivus is hard to top.

I will say though, that I never get emotional from watching movies etc... but the Office Christmas special... man, I was completely gooey inside when....

***Spoiler warning*****

....Tim and Dawn finally got together.

***end spoiler ***

I was squealing like a schoolgirl.

Brilliant way to end a brilliant show.

Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant are gods.

I swallow every little drop of content they produce... TV shows, podcasts, dvds, books...

Classic moments in that episode.

Lisa and Bart caroling to create a diversion while Homer breaks in the back window.

Brilliant. :D

Me too on all of the above. I often listen to their old XFM shows too.
Have you happened to catch the Extras christmas special yet?

The Vicar of Dibley have had a couple of quality specials as well.

Certainly the best Easter special - the one with the multiple Easter Bunnies.

"Always lets you park your boat in her jetty, Letty.'"

tis brilliant i agree, Vicar of Dibley "The Christmas Lunch incident" is a classic The Detectives Christmas special when they went to Canada was pretty good as well. Seen The Office Specials loads of time and the6y don't get boring, also Only Fools and Horses Special, "Diamonds are for heather" from series 2.

The Christmas lunch episode was a classic.

A bit disappointed with the final two Dibley episodes but still a fantastic sitcom.

You forgot "Merry Christmas, Mister Bean"! A VERY funny classic

For you Alexie Sayle fans, Sant Claus: Polar Czar is funny!

And of course, Countless of Simpsons Christmas Special, mainly Simpsons Roasting on an Open fire- you know, when Homer did not get the bonus, Bart gets a partial Tattoo, Marge spends the $$$ from the jar to have Bart's Tattoo removed by a laser, etc- and MIracle On Evergreen Terrace- InfernoBuster 3000!
