Best way to exchange AUD for USD?

I need to transfer $10,000+ into a US bank account but my Australian bank (Westpac) gives me a pretty average rate. If I wire it using my bank I will lose around $200 and I'd rather not just give that away without searching for a better alternative.

What is my best option?

No idea what your best option would be, but for a large amount probably the first place I'd get a quote from would be a currency exchange like OzForex.

Other options would include a third party wire transfer service like Western Union, but I have no idea if they handle amounts that large.

I've used ozforex - they are decent, and give better rates the more you transfer. Last couple of times HSBC have had slightly better rates - but not sure if they are for customers only etc...
