What was our best win for the year?

Is it the Melbourne win that silenced the critics only 2 rounds in, the Gold Coast win that broke our longest losing streak in history, or the Carlton win that has everyone of us optimistic and excited for 2017? For me, it is very very hard to split the Melbourne and Carlton wins. The best quarter of the year for me no doubt was the 3rd quarter of the Carlton game, but the full time siren in the game vs Melbourne was probably the best moment of the year. The Carlton game as a whole was the most enjoyable considering how comfortably we beat them (and the after game events that took place).

Both wins up there with Collingwood 2009, Fremantle 2013 and Hawthorn 2015.

I never expected me to enjoy this season as much as I did.

For me it was the Melbourne win. I went into the season expecting that we wouldn't win a game and to get the monkey off the back so early was a nice surprise. That Melbourne were up and about after a big win against GWS the week before made it all the sweeter.

Probably mount a case for all of them.

Melbourne was amazing, after losing 12 of our best players and the media saying we wont win a game, was good to come out and outplay the Dees.
Gold Coast after them beating us rd 1 was good to finally get one back. They would of come down from the Gold Coast expecting to win too.

But beating the Blues, how ****ing good? I know for a fact they would of expected a win and got put into to place, also was a fantastic way to end a reasonably good year on field.

Not the GC one, that's for sure.

I think the Melbourne one was the most important as it gave some hope early on and took pressure off, but the carlton one was more fun as we had time to soak it in and it was against probably our biggest rival.

Too many to choose from! Ahaha

I think Carlton was the best though. We played that game actually looking like a football team, with leading forwards and transitions out of defence it's quite exciting for the future.

Melbourne win was a great atmosphere too

Haven't seen an Essendon forward line function like that for years.

Couldn't believe my eyes that we had forwards leading and creating space instead of just bombing on top of their heads.

Melbourne.

Everyone tipped us not to win a game and yet the team got one in round 2.

Also confirmed the status that Parish is a gun by kicking the winning goal in just his 2nd game.
It was the hug from me and Doss that really got this over the line wasn't it?

The Carlton game had a great highlight reel.
Joey's 100 metre bomb (at least), Tippa embarrassing the Carlton backline, Dea's screamer, and the great Carlton point celebration. It had it all. :)

I personally got more satisfaction from the Melb win because everything was still so raw, I'd just mingled with the throngs and shook Simon Madden's hand on the way to the G, I really didn't think we had a hope in hell of winning, and it was a gripping finish.

The Carlton game was a better win from a performance perspective though.

I was lucky enough to be present at the game for all 3 wins this year. I would rank them in this order;

#1 Melbourne.

I think the Melbourne win left me feeling the most euphoric of the three, the final siren was crazy good celebrating with all the other Bombers supporters. The muppets in the media said we wouldn't win a game all year and it was great to prove them wrong early. I also think this win sparked a lot of optimism amongst us Bomber supporters for what the rest of the season could hold, I was lapping this win up for a good week after it happened. The Darcy Parish match winning goal was easily my favorite moment of the year, the roar from the crowd was unbelievable. Joe was very exciting too even though he didn't kick many goals.

#2 Gold Coast.

Breaking the losing streak was fantastic, we had come close on a number of occasions but our kicking in front of goal had let us down. I was an exciting finish to game and I kept waiting for Gold Coast to come over the top in the end but we held them at bay and our defenders kept repelling every attack they made. When the siren went, it was a relief more than anything for me. It was good to see all the fans giving the players and coaches a rousing send off after the game as the players went down into the rooms.

#3 Carlolton.

This game was just fun. Either result, it was going to be a win for us - smash the scum or end up with pick 1. In the end we got both! It was enjoyable listening to all the scum supporters moan complain everytime one of their players did something stupid, I was actually really having a chuckle at their expense. The goal fest from Joe and Tippa was just a nice change from our usual slow scoring efforts, good reward for us fans who have waited for 22 games this season before we broke the ton on the scoreboard. The warm send off for the 'top-up' players by the club and supporters was nice way to end the season and good signs from a lot of the younger players leaves me going into the off-season filled with a renewed sense of hope and enthusiasm for next season.

Carlton win was most satisfying because we looked like a side that should have finished mid-table. Happily anticipating the pre-season and the return of the 12. Good things for 2017! Finals-bound!

Carlton for sure because we were expected to severely tire real late in the season (too many young players and all that) but we were up and about and won comfortably.

Melbourne, partly because the day itself was so much bigger. Can't say I was super invested in the walk or whatever, but the buildup did make the atmosphere so much better. Considering we lost the lead and then won it back through goals from three of our young guns in Daniher, Langford and then Parish, it's hard for a game to be more promising than that.

Beating Carlton is always good fun, and as Yaco says above, we probably played better and we even had a much better structure/system going by then.

But from a pure supporter perspective, that Melbourne win was as satisfying as any other I've been to.

Sidenote: it is hilarious that we have wins to choose from.
