Betting on football

Wondering if someone can give me some advice. A friend of mine and I were looking at placing some bets on football for next year, but we don't just want to bet on the usual things like Coleman medal/Brownlow medal/Premiership side. We were looking at betting on things like rising star nominations, most number of debut players, etc.

Are there any betting agencies out there that cater for these more eclectic bets?

I'm sure at the very least there will be somewhere that will allow you to bet on the Rising Star winner, if not nominees, but I don't even know which ones to go to for that. Anything more specific/unusual would be a bonus.

I was looking at betting during the off-season (figure I would get the best odds) but everywhere I look simply has top 8, grand final quinella and brownlow club

Contact them and I'm sure they'd be able to accommodate you. What they'd have on their websites would be the most common gambling topics, however I'm sure they take more obscure bets as well.

I wouldn't know, not being a gambler, but I'd also suggest centrebet. They seem to be the two which get mentioned most often in the media.

Sportingbet or Sportsbet is probably going to give you the more obscure options you are after (Almost any time you hear odds quoted for something out of the ordinary in the media, it comes from one of these 2 ie Federal election results, Academy Awards etc.) The TAB (TABSportsbet) takes the types of bets you mentioned but I'm not sure if they have framed the market yet.
