What's our ruling with delisted players being a train-on player for a club in the off-season?

Ie. I have Jaxon Binns and he mutually left Carlton, but is now training with Essendon (VFL mind you) as a possible SSP option after the draft.

I'd imagine Keeper will cut the delisted players off lists on the platform at some point. But if I want to keep him or his spot for post-draft rather than having to cut him and then hope for the best when he's re-added to the game, do we have a plan?

NOTE: This could all be bypassed if Essendon signed or drafted him prior to the SSP time beginning. But just looking at all options.
What we’ve done in the past is nominated a placeholder player (like Tom McDonald or some old player with little fantasy value) to represent Binns. You’ll need to keep McDonald (for example) on your list as that placeholder. If you delist him, then it’s like you’ve delisted Binns. If Binns re-enters the comp via SSP then we swap him out. I can’t remember which player we did it for in the past or who was the placeholder but it’s how we’ve managed it previously when a player wasn’t available in the fantasy roster but was still a going concern and their manager wanted to keep them.

I'd imagine if you dont delist him, and he's on and afl list he is your player. If he disappears from the game I guess u just need to make clear a vacant list spot is assigned to him.
This could also work, UF didn’t let us finish the draft with an empty list spot which is why there was a no value “placeholder” that wasn’t at risk of being taken later in the draft that filled in.

Yep I remember something like this happening years and years ago with a player i had that got cut and then came back. But it was different to the SSP ruling so I wondered if we'd made a ruling by then.

All seems like it's a wait and see right now anyway.

Good news everyone. You have been heard.

Wildcard round is a choice. Aye or nay.

Think of it as a top 10 finals system with a fancy name. Because that is exactly what it is.

Vote in this thread now if we should use it this coming season.

I don't mind it in fantasy. But I absolutely hate in AFL terms.

I hate it for the AFL too, like flaps said. Our league has always done a good job of trying to closely mirror the actual AFL.. so I think, with that in mind, that we should add it for the league.

I'd be against it for that same reason. The mirror. They're going with 10 of 18, leading up to 10 of 20.

10 of 14 doesn't mirror that.

10/18 is 55.56%
8/14 is 55.14%
10/14 is 71.43%

8 of 14 mirrors closer to AFL.

This also makes sense.
