Very interesting week of football
Sunbury v Darley - devils look like they are having a horror run with injuries and not enough depth at the moment to cover. Sunbury by 30 points
Melton v East - match of the round, undefeated eastern team v undefeated western team. Melton must have been good last week and have started the year full of confidence. So I’ll go with them by 2 goals
Marsh v NBC - Cobras will be spewing after their round one defeat, with a week off to think about it I’m tipping a 10 goal win
Redan v Lakers - think the Lions will prevail in maybe a close one. Still unsure if either of these teams are any good
Sebas v Ballarat - Sebas surely get their first win with their bunch of high priced recruits. If not then where to from here? 10 goal Sebas win
Also South to secure their first points of the year with the bye

Tipping:
Sunbury
North
Melton
Redan
Sebast.

It's an interesting round after which we should have a much better understanding of how sides compare with one another.

I watched the vision of the Melton v Darley game, there's only the first half available. I'd say Darley were lucky to get within 5-goals of Melton, must be far from full strength. How long before the coach pulls on the boots?
Melton should be too good for East this week, Lovig out, Johnston, Ottavi playing in the VFL young guns game.
Sebas should flog Ballarat.
Might be one of few wins for Redan this year, Lakers have Pring, O'Connell and Elkington out, of a team that probably wouldn't have won the reserves grand final last year.
Ballarat teams looking a bit off the pace at the moment.

Ask rod ward why the vision from that game was deleted

Sorry Bang I never mentioned any incident in my post...

A question for the BFL BF readers- How has Darlys new ruckman Dylan Reid been thus far??
Cheers.
I thought he was OK against marsh round one, but he was getting over hyped by others. Didn’t see last week. He had a hamstring injury and didn’t do much before round 1 so may take time to work out if he’s any good.

Disappointing from a North perspective but Bacchus Marsh were very impressive today.
They have a number of dangerous options up forward and plenty of run, if they can link up as well as they did today they'll beat most sides.

They don’t think anyone can beat them except Darley. Devils have beaten them 4 of the past 5 meetings. But Darley won’t unless they are full strength. Marsh are missing a few also. They will destroy a lot of sides this year.

Surely it’s time the BFNL scrapped these night games! Lights go out as Redan are making a run at lakers and the game is abandoned.
The lights at these grounds are great for training and might be passable for playing, but they’re crap for watching as a spectator. Add the 8-degree nights and the heavy dew and the standard of play drops significantly. You’ve only got to look at the scores to see most of these games fail to reach any great heights. Get rid of them now! No one wants them!

Yep, reckon Marsh look the early Favorites but seems that if teams can stop there run they struggle (thats a big seem) hence why they will crush some sides. Once again comp looks reasonably even with all teams capable of winning on there day possibly. East done well to beat Melton at home and look the best of the Western sides. Eastern teams seem stronger at this early stage but it’s great to see a few upsets.

Marsh and Darley deserve to be favourites at this stage, the competition as a whole seems much more even overall which is great.

Are Bacchus and Redan playing ducks and drakes with their selection for this weekend, or has Courier reporter David Brehaut got his injury reports wrong? On Monday Brehaut reported Scott Sherlock had dislocated his shoulder against North and that Orren Stephenson had strained a hamstring against Lakers during the shortened night game at the City Oval.
I see both are named for their respective sides to play tomorrow. Surely you don’t recover from either of those injuries in 1-week. I assume if you are to believe Brehaut, neither play tomorrow!
