I ask this respectfully, but who is AC Bannerman? 🤷‍♂️
Charles Bannerman opened the batting for Australia in the first ever test match in 1877. He scored 165* (retired hurt) out of Australia's first innings total of 245.

Which is 67.35% of the total. It is still the world record in tests for the highest percentage of runs by one batter in a completed innings.

Excellent knowledge you have. Thank you for passing it on. 👍

Short has been getting out caught in the covers every game
Short and Lynn are way overrated: they're there to get talked up by the commentators to fail.

Lynn is past it and Short, while he looks smooth and classy, seems to hit good shots along the ground straight to the field, then get frustrated way too early and hit nothing shots in the air straight to the field. We need another Royal Commisison here. He sets a very poor example as Captain while batting: he really needs to anchor the innings with such a poor batting side.

I reckon hes a pretty reluctant captain TBH, almost like "well we dont have anyone else so i better do it"

I wouldn't say he's overrated, I just think he's having a poor season.

I do wonder how long itll be before Liam Scott gets mentioned in ODI and T20I squads.

We do have a few similar types already, but the kid has game

Our bowling lineup is very good but I’ve never seen a weaker batting lineup in BBL. Short is underperforming. Lynn is now too hit and miss. Harvey and Sangha have been woeful but should have been better. Manenti and co don’t look up to it. Nielson gave us nothing with the bat and Wadia living off his first 3 balls. Surely the boy from WA with a very South African name who opens for woodvillle and making lots of runs in district cricket would be a better bet as a development player

Scott Overton with ball only wood Shamsi and the pontiff have been contributors but it’s slim pickings after that

Ross not picked again

I see he (and Wadia) played T20 finals for their clubs today

Ross made 60 odd not out and won his team the game. Surprised we don't just park him in the middle order. He's a good fielder too and plays spin well

Wadia was technically Carey's replacement, so can't play anymore (unless another player is out/playing internationally). Selection seems a bit random otherwise.

Why are we picking so many bowling options?

Given the Scorchers start, we will need serious batting tonight.
