Not sure what's happened with the Strikers. We have done nothing except lose Doggett in the transfer window.

I had high hopes as it was reported we only signed 9 players instead of 10 to give ourselves flexibility. We may as well have kept Doggett.

Strikers sign two fast bowlers through the draft. Luke Wood from England and Hasan Ali from Pakistan.

Hopefully both are available for the entire tournament.

Hasan Ali is a bloody good get, really handy T20 bowler and a destructive hitter. He is one of those bowlers who takes wickets in clumps.

Looks like we will have better death & power play bowling options next season.

All the draft picks are great gets. Current or very recent internationals. Certainly the type you grab immediately no matter your lineup.

It makes the local recruiting seem a bit sus though. The squad as a whole is maybe even more one-note than last year. Matt Short and Jason Sangha are the only spin options that aren't also true tail-enders.

Also, time for a ninth team and a 4th import slot per team IMHO.

Squad Hasan Ali (PAK), Cameron Boyce, Jordan Buckingham, Alex Carey, Mackenzie Harvey, Travis Head, Thomas Kelly, Chris Lynn, Harry Nielsen, Jamie Overton (ENG), Lloyd Pope, Alex Ross, Jason Sangha, Liam Scott, Matt Short, Tom Straker, Henry Thornton, Luke Wood (ENG)
I was looking at the squad for the upcoming season, and after all the noise about not renewing Chris Lynn's contract at the end of last year... They just signed him again anyway. (good decision IMHO)

Otherwise the imports are probably the best set the Strikers have had that doesn't include Rashid Khan. Though very one-note (even if they've been wildly experimental recruiting one left-arm bowler amongst the right-arm pace), and also all three could miss for international duty.

Otherwise much the same. Jason Sangha and Mack Harvey seem like gambles based on signs shown years ago. I think getting Sangha is a good move at the very least.

Sangha will play ahead of Thornton for more batting depth. Five pace bowlers is overkill for me, and Sangha is theoretically another spin option at a pinch (though his last injury was caused by bowling, so maybe he'll put it away for good).

And will be ahead of Harvey in the pecking order. He was killing it in past BBLs, it's only injury that held him back.
