Wow - I had memories of him presenting a show, but decided that I moved him up with someone else.

I doubt Smith was in on it. Warner convinced a first gamer into cheating. Warner should have been sacked imo. Bancroft's suspension was appropriate. Smith was the captain, he went down with the ship so to speak.

I think too much is made of Bancroft being coerced... He was 26 at the time. FFS I remember playing under 14's and watching our opening bowler use Vaseline to polish the ball and knowing it was deadset cheating.

Bancroft was old and experienced enough to say 'Go away Davey, you're being a stupid campaigner'.

And if the culture in the dressing room was so toxic that a new team member could not say that then Smith deserved what he got.

Either way I feel like Bancroft has managed to paint himself as too much of a victim.
