It'll hit a peak by late January over east. Might be ok by the time the real season starts.

Maybe but if large groups of players get it i can see so many games being cancelled early on. Unless they do a 2020 and have the season delayed till the peak well and truely hit.

AFL isn’t going to work with these cases spiralling.

Hard to see how any sports comp can keep going in this situation.

The NBA and NFL are a shambles right now, especially the NBA. Not just players, a third or so of referees are out with COVID protocols.
Should be a shit-tastic season

Bring back bubbles (or in extreme circumstances, hubs), otherwise shorten the season and add a couple of byes so that postponed games can be played.

Michael Jackson likes this

Maddinson ? WTF

Inglis - Carey close contact with travis head maybe ?

My guess is generic cover.

Only one keeper in the squad so bring in Inglis

Only one batting all rounder in the squad so bring in Marsh.

Maddinson for Head.

Already extra batting cover (Khawaja) pace cover (numerous) and spin cover (Swepson) in squad

If I was an England player right now I'd be going around in full PPE because I can't think of anything more bitterly ironic than doing two weeks of hotel quarantine, losing the Ashes in less than that, and then getting COVID anyway in the community.

You pretty safe if your Jos Buttler. He struggles to catch anything

Ussie would be very stiff but Marsh would have to be a pretty decent chance of playing in Sydney. Has been in good form and could see JL wanting to find a way back in for him. Also gives us an extra pace option if we opt for two spinners

Pretty sure MM is insurance if someone else gets it.
Ussie for mine.

Aust - Travis Head to miss with a positive. Hard to believe more won't go down before the match. Or after it starts.

Eng - 7 positives in the party/families, including the coach. No players yet but again hard to believe it won't happen.

If we want two spinners we could end up with an attack of Cummins, Starc, Green, Marsh, Lyon and Swepson.
Been very impressed with Green with the ball and in the field. Just needs to go on with it with the bat. He's certainly got the talent. Nice to see an Oz all rounder who can bowl at 145kph with good bounce and accuracy. Can't remember the last one of those we had. Remarkably, England have had Botham, Flintoff and Stokes that fit that bill since our last.

Peak Watson was that player pre-injuries
Just injury after injury. Changed him from a true all rounder to a batsman who could bowl a bit to a batsman who could roll his arm over at medium pace occasionally.
Very much a 'could've, should've' career. Only 59 tests in 15 years.

My wife got me the old Test Match board game for Christmas. Not the one with the felt green mat, the metal ball and the plastic fielders (have had that one since I was a kid), but the even older 2D one from the 1950s:

This is not so much of a game as a device for simulating a test match. The board holds a score board and two rotating randomizers. The bowler rotates his handle to first ball of the over and back to the start, revealing a type of ball (leg break, bouncer, etc). The batsman rotates his handle to the type of ball bowled, and back again, revealing a batsman scoring runs or being dismissed. If you know the rules of cricket, it's obvious how to simulate a test match given these rules.

It's so bad it's good. It's 100% luck-based, no skill required at all. And I'm pretty sure it would be possible to be bowled by a bouncer.

Was all out for 60 in my first go :straining:

I'm thinking about dusting off my ancient and unused programming skills to convert it into an electronic version just to see if I can.

It's almost impossible to make 100 in that. And yes, possible to be bowled by a bouncer.
