I love the way the Scorchers have responded to hubs and hardship. A sign of maturity that they have used to their advantage. That was something expected from the Eagles in 2020 and 2021. Our boys should take inspiration from our cricketers and get with the programme as the 2022 looks like it will be bloody tricky

A lot of the cricketers in the squad are domestic so don't really travel.
You're also not factoring in we've only had one home game.

You can spin it anyway you like, win lose or draw it's been a huge effort.

Why was lastnight's game between Sydney and Adleaide played in Melbourne? The winner goes on to play at the SCG, so why didn't the Thunder get to play lastnight's game in Sydney? Something something covid?

We had to play a home grand final in Canberra, despite the WACA being available. Everything else is moot.

CA said all off of the finals in the first week were to be held in Melbourne.
Yep, was Covid related.

Perth Scorchers dominator Mitchell Marsh requested a different fixture change.

“I’d have Scorchers playing 14 home games next summer. I feel like we’ve played about three home games in the last two years,” Marsh told News Corp.

He has a case. Scorchers are ‘hosting’ multiple BBL finals at Marvel Stadium and could finish the season having played six out of their past 35 games in Perth because of Western Australia’s crazy border restrictions, which is hardly their fault.

If you want to make it in top level cricket you are prepared to travel and for long periods. That's the gig. You know this before you sign up.

The last time I checked a heap ofBBL players.....Well.....played in other clubs and conpetitions. THAT is the point.

There are Poms, Indians, West Indian etc players.

The Australian guys are all across how cricket works. You want to play at the top level you travel and don't see home as much as an AFL player.

It's a mind set different to footballers travelling every second week. Cricketers move between clubs and seasons to play and earn elsewhere. Much more fluid on where they play.

And much fewer opportunities at the top, so baulking at travel/moving and instead finding a more comfortable situation isn't an option.

Yep, I liked him. Seemed to be a bit of a whipping boy but I never understood the hate.

I think he’s pretty good. Sometimes needs to dial down the smarminess but he’s a good commentator.
