Big Day In

Does anyone know when the Big Day In is on on Channel [V]? Planning on going to dads to record it. Also is anyone planning on ripping it? Would much prefer a digital copy of the Tool, Muse and Trivium gigs than VHS.

From what I saw it was a joke. No Killers, Muse or Tool. The majority of the coverage was either rubbish interviews or My Chemical Romance, Jet and John Butler. Last year it was interactive and over two days, this year it was four hours.

I missed out on tickets to the Gold Coast and have wanted to see the Killers for ages, but consoled myself in the thought that I could watch the Big Day In and see a fair bit of their set...

Jet were on for an hour. And were terrible, of course. I saw nothing even close to worth watching. A wind up of a TV show.

Channel V has gone so far down hill its not funny. I barely go near the music channels these days...all rubbish. Sounds like I was lucky to forget this was on...

Did they edit out the crowd noise for Jet, where between every song people were screaming "******** off, we want Muse!"?

Well that was ********house. Skipping between ESPN and [V] I got to see two MCR songs where Gerard(?) clearly cannot sing well.

And then Jet for about 8 songs. What a joke. Oh and the plethora of crap interviews with bands and the crowd and ads.

On the doco about V and BDO it mentioned alot of bands that have denied access, perhaps in previous years they've been guaranteed 100% access.

If not it's bullcrap because while I never liked V anyway, they are just changing to MTV and VH1, full of crappy reality shows.

So when I did a quick look through my tape to find Muse I couldn't because it's not there? That's bull********, I sat through Jet once just to get a good spot for Muse now I'm inflicted with their crap again.

Yep they even said "coming up Muse" and then went straight to the BDO behind the scenes thing last year.

Turns out [V] ********ed about and didnt get the managements OK to play it in time. Hopeless.

Many times in the past the record companies of the respective acts don't give permission. Happened with QOTSA, Jane's Addiction and heaps of others.

But Eskimo Joe, Killers, Muse, Tool... Surely they had footage of at least one song from those 4 bands Especially EJ who said that they were fans of the big day out growing up and loved playing there
