Okay. End thread thanks. For a kick off, like all but two of Mike Brady's tunes, that's an embarrassing, talent-free dirge. More inside......
Glad I just noticed the times 5...Big Nick had more presence on the field than any other player I've ever seen. Think Charlie Dixon or Shane Mumford x 5.
Hard Yakka, hard yakka ... made him a fortune. Up there Cazaly made him famous. For a kick off, like all but two of Mike Brady's tunes, that's an embarrassing, talent-free dirge. More inside......
He beat Polly nearly every time he played on him, esoteric mentioned he had presence on the field, i'll call it aura. During a game you knew where he was at all times. My favourite memory was in 1972 we drew with Richmond in the semi and the following week they flogged us with Big Nick missing a sitter in front of goal. Sh.tface Sheedy then ran up to him and gave him a tap on the back, when they met two weeks later Big Nick kicked six.Was he better than Polly?
He was in a band in the 60's called MPD limited and had a couple of hits.Hard Yakka, hard yakka ... made him a fortune. Up there Cazaly made him famous.
Wrote hundreds of advertising jingles. Went to a Tourism event where he was the guest speaker, very humble guy.

I was lucky enough to be there to see him kick those goals. What a day that was! Farmer was fantastic and had great skills, but Big Nick, with his bulk, skills and incredible football brain, was in a league of his own and every game seem to revolve and evolve around him. He was the one who consistently influenced and controlled games far more than any other player. At his prime, you'd read papers or watch the post game reports on TV and the word 'dominated' was nearly always used with his name. He was the original 'dominator' and, without doubt, our greatest player EVER!He beat Polly nearly every time he played on him, esoteric mentioned he had presence on the field, i'll call it aura. Thanks Chip! Some other teams supporters suggesting he was a thug? What's your thoughts?I was lucky enough to be there to see him kick those goals. What a day that was! They would say that, wouldn't they? No, he was very intimidating with his steely stares and was all business on the field, but he wasn't a thug. Much like Schwarzenegger's terminator, he seemed to have absolutely no sense of humour and was completely focussed on the ball and winning games, and if that meant running through or over an opposition player to help achieve that, so be it. I don't remember any dirty, behind-the-play stuff at all. I don't know whether I could say that about a few of his team mates, though (e.g, Vin or Wes). Maybe the reason I can't recall any behind-the-play stuff, is that he wasn't often behind or out of the playlThanks Chip! Some other teams supporters suggesting he was a thug? What's your thoughts?
