BigFooty Pub Night!

OK everyone it was discussed a few weeks ago and everyone seemed to think it was a good idea. So I'm going to start a thread reminding everyone about the proposed Bigfooty Pub Night.

Details:
Date: Friday 28 September (Grand Final eve)
Venue: Mercat Cross Hotel - 456 Queen Street (opp. Queen Victoria market)
Time: 7:30 onwards
Dress: I have no idea what the dress code is for this place...can you get in with footy gear on?

The date was chosen because it seemed quite appropriate to have it during the biggest week of the Footy season, and if an interstate team makes the Grand Final there is a good chance a few of their supporters will be in town.

So what do you reckon people? Sounds good. Post any suggestions/comments/rants here.

It is the worst night to have it...too busy....grand final week theres first of all the trouble of trying to find a ticket, theres last trainings to attend, attending footy show grand final show that week, grand final parade, footy marathon on TV and of course as Danni said only in my words its >>> slutting with the Lions lol! but yeh if im still in the city that time might pop in we will see!

If the date doesn't suit too many people, it can always be held on another night. We just thought it would be a good night because there is guaranteed to be no footy that night, there may be some interstaters in town and footy will be talk of the town.

But if anyone can suggest a night where people are more likely to be available, feel free.

I will be there & mags someone said they chose that venue because it is easy for under 18's to get in.
The people who are saying have it some other time fair enough, but the point is, people from interstate only have a short time in Melb, maybe you can have another BF meeting for people who live in Melbourne.
I just thought it would be good for interstaters to get together with Melbourne people during the finals.

I'd love to be there

But somehow I don't think I'll be making it 'coz Melbourne is always a bit impossible on GF weekend for an interstate visitor. Especially if his team is not in the GF

I've got the date and venue so you never know, but at this stage it looks unlikely.

I'm still interested in maybe organising another get together at a country town that is handy to New South Welshmen and South Aussies to get to as well.

I'm thinking about maybe a 'BigFooty Pre-season Camp' at a place like Mildura or Wagga or somewhere for the summer time.

But we'll talk more about this during the off season perhaps ?
