The PS3 lads have got a competition going so I figure that the Xbox lads might be interested. However, the competition will not be a '24-round then finals' sort of thing, but a FIFA-inspired group knockout with the top teams advancing.
Let's see how this goes. Hopefully there is enough interest and we can get this going.
General Rules
Each of the 17 teams can only be selected once. If your team has already been selected, that's just tough luck, but feel free to choose another team and try your luck.
The competition will start when 17 separate players have signed up (if there are not 17, the competition will be varied to suit the players that have signed up).
Upon sign-up completion, a fixture will be release. The competition, if all goes to plan, will begin next week, as most on this board will be on school holidays.
Competition Rules
There will be three groups of four, one group of five. The top two teams in each group will advance (including the group of five).
Each team will play each other twice (the groups of four will play a total of six games each while the group of five will play eight games each).
After each game, one of the two players from each game must report the scores so points and percentage can be tallied.
After the groups stages, the top eight teams will compete in Semi-Finals with the winners playing in the Preliminary Finals. The winners of those two games will meet in the Xbox AFL Live Grand Final.
A win is worth 4 points, a draw is worth 2 points and a loss is worth 0 points.
The groups will be randomly drawn.
Match rules
The obvious things will be punished (blocking shots etc.). If these are reported, chances are you will either be disqualified or penalised a number of points.
Failure to compete will result in a forfeit and 100-point loss. Match times will be quite easy to figure out.
Quitting without a valid and understandable reason will result in a forfeit and 100-point loss.
Please ONLY sign up if you are dedicated to seeing the competition through. It should only span over a week or so if done correctly.
