The game played at Preston City Oval between Bulleen Templestowe vs Fitzroy in Under 19's Section Red.

At 3/4 time the margin was 66 points. The scores were:

Fitzroy 18.6.114
Bulleen Templestowe 7.6.48

In the final quarter Bulleen Templestowe kicked 10 goals 8 behinds to Fitzroy just 1 behind to win by 1 point. The final scores were:

Fitzroy 18.7.115
Bulleen Templestowe 17.14.116

This was a 67 point turnaround in one quarter of football.

Does anyone know what the biggest comeback at 3/4 time is in the history of football over the past 100 hundred years, in every state and in every single league. If not then I'd like to know what the biggest is in AFL!!!

I know the Roos game back from 40 a couple of years ago Vs Swans...

Brisbane Vs Hawthorn 1995 Round 16 was a biggie for us but not sure if it is a record in AFL history.

45 points down at 3/4 time and came back to win by 7 points.

So to save your brains on the maths that is a 52 point turn around

Hello to all the Geelong fans, my greatest day in Melbourne ever was down at Kardinya Park this year. One of the all time great comebacks and officially shattered about 19,000 felines.

C'mon coast!

Was that the game where the Hawks sauntered over to the shade at 3/4 time, giving the bears an inkling that they were stuffed?

yup and I remember it well cos Steve Lawrence kicked a great goal from about 4673m out (oh alright it's an exageration but it was a bloody terrific goal!)

Yep, Brisbanes comeback over Hawthorn is the biggest from 3/4 time in VFL/AFL History.
Followed by North Melbourne who came from 44 points down to beat Essendon by 8 points in 1947.

Here's a list of the greatest 10 comeback in AFL history.

Sandringham defeated Moorabbin in the 1962 VFA Grand final the Junction Oval after being 44 pts down at 3/4 time to win by a solitary point. Now thats what you call a comeback!

Ah, yes- first game for me in Brisbane and first time visiting the Gabba. Sat behind the goal at the School end of the ground, just around from the Bears Club, with the Cricketers' Club still set on the eastern end of the Vulture Street side. Warmish day, but great atmosphere....

Don't really remember much of the action, but remember that Voss stood out for me and quickly became my favourite player- also remember the famous "Bat Man" raffling a bottle of scotch through the stands. If I remember correctly, his first name was Peter....

Iheard from a guy i played with about a game where a side led by 16 goals in the country somewhere and the opposition (losing team) capatin called for a head count they had an extra player on the ground. Their score was wiped...essesntially the team down by 16 gaols won the game in one qtr...it was the last qtr

the rule in wa footy (country ) is that if a team rolls up short and say they only have 15 blokes the other side has to play with 15 also....this is what happened...both teams satarted with 16 but one team had 4 reserves.....and somehow one of them ended up on the feild...the captain called a head count and bang they had 17 on the feild and thier score which was like 22 goals was wiped to 0.0..the other team won

bizare but it happens......the strange thing is if you suspect they have an extra on the feild and you call for a head count and youre wrong...your teams score is wiped and you get reported for time wasting also and the game is over....

3/4 Time comebacks...

I would just like to ask all people on this site on their input into the greatest 3/4 comebacks in the history of football, throughout every league. In being a member of the BULLANTS U19's who came back from 66 points down at 3/4 time to win by 1 point, I am just curious to know where we stand in the history books......

P.S. Please give me correct facts and data if you know any....thanx guys

Wasn't there a thread on this already? Yes, yes - look down - there's the other one you started...

I once kicked 16 goals in the final quarter playing in the back pocket to overcome a 95 point margin at 3/4 time.

Nothing special really - Just a typical day in the life of theHoffinator.

Re: 3/4 Time comebacks...

66 points, that is unbelievable!!

Amazing comeback.

Doubt there would be any game even close to that margin, let alone a Grand Final!!

Well done, must have been some heavy partying.;)

The only record the bad news bears hold of any significance was giving up the greatest score and replacing Fitzroy. Thanks for nothing.

In 1986, the Sturt v Glenelg Escort Cup (SANFL night grand final) had Sturt leading by 59 pts at 3qt, 11.9 to 2.4.

Glenelg kicks 10.3 to 0.3 in the last quarter, insane.
