Another thing I find amusing...

Mooney
2006 - 22 goals, 4 brownlow votes
2007 - 62 goals, 1 brownlow vote

a minor point, but something I just find very amusing :p

mooney wouldnt be too favoured with the umps, for obvious given reasons.

But good on him the way he has turned his temper around.

Smash anyone you like on sat moons, i dont care, just get two hands on that cup!!

Yep, that's the cool thing about this Saturday. If Moons loses it and whacks someone, a suspension now is irrelevant (at least for this year).

it's simple.
when ottens is playing his best, the midfielders get perfect football and can use ottens as a midfielder too. their play is better so the midfielders look better and not ottens.
when blake even kicks a ball the crowd and team mates lift a bit and go a bit crazy. umpires like it when the crowd forgets how bad they are.

Cast your minds back to the early 90's when Stynes, Wynd all polled well. Justin Madden and Simon Madden also used to get a fistful of votes, then also Everitt and Lade in times gone by have scored plenty. This year, it's like ruckmen were totally forgotten, like with Otto, who has had arguably his best season so far.

Maybe Brownlow voting is like a sort of fad, with midfielders the main men at this point, although Jimmy deserved every vote. Ablett and Corey justifyably also, they aren't called the ABC of Geelong for nothing!

Simon Black, well i had him in my Supercoach side, and the game he scored 3 against the Tigers was a joke, he had 5 kicks i think and about 16 possies. He was abysmal that game, yet he must get some of his votes by hypnosis of the umpires, using his 2002 Brownlow as a sceptre or something....
