Agree. John Barnes was a great pickup, as much as I hate to admit it, given that Steve Alessio is my favourite player of all time.

Mine was Justin Blumfield. Not in the same class as Hird, nor the same numbers as Jason Johnson, but easily as effective as those two.

Always thought he was on the track to stardom but in a great side he was allowed the time and space to roam free, after being traded to Richmond he really fell off the radar, it broke my heart as a 12 y.o boy that my favorite player was playing for someone else..

Yeah, Alessio was my favourite player. Not a great player TBH, but I had met him a few times around the club and at his restaurant (stalker much ) and he was always such a great guy. He used to host a trivia night at Windy Hill with a panel of players/staff. One night I remember was Alessio and Bryan Wood (I think it was him, he was a runner for us right?) just telling stories about what happened on the field. Hilarious stuff. One story I remember was Bryan Wood saying he used to hate trying to drag Darren Bewick off the field, because as soon as Bewick knew that Wood was coming, he used to just run away to try and stay on the field.

If Bewick could smell a goal coming, there was no way you could have dragged him. No way.

Remember the game well. Richmond actually didn't do much wrong, it was just we were so friggen good...Never forget Derm's post game analysis stating it a 'Clinical Dismantling"..
