Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Maybe we are looking at retaining him as a train on and the club were never trading him.
...But we delisted him, so he could move anywhere he wanted as a DFA, provided it was a mutual agreement (ie him and the other club, not us).

I'm pretty certain he was 'free to a (good) home'.

I'm also not 100% sure that he'll get a train-on spot. There's a chance we don't have a list spot, but also the wording was hardly concrete around what would happen:

"Will White and Elijah Hollands will be considered for pre-season train-on opportunities following the conclusion of the draft in November."

We haven't even committed to the train-on option.

I'm still assuming he's done.

This was way worse than the Richmond game in Round 1 for mine. At least in that game we started great, only to get stung by a blistering, young and speedy team with nothing to lose.

Port were on-par with us as far as season prospects were concerned by Round 16 but our effort was just insipid. I thought for sure Voss was gone after that one, despite the players being 100% at fault for it. Never any excuse for effort.
And when all the players ran to congratulate Lewis Young when he kicked our first goal - like wtf was that about

Felt like the playing group were trying to say something to the club admin/coaches idk. Was just really odd

It seemed to me there'd been a pregame directive to get around each other and celebrate stuff after looking a bit flat in previous weeks. Unfortunately it took a bit longer than expected to implement it.

that makes sense

given how late it was it did feel a little odd

And yet 7 games later we beat them by more than they beat us in that game. Go figure.

I’m all for recalling some of our modern day horror stories. But can we do it somewhere else? Talking Bluemours gives me a lift, but this sort of stuff is plain depressing!

Agree & that’s what this thread is for ⬇️

I read this and straight away knew you were talking about Motlop.

It almost seems like his aim is to get ball, head down, get tackled, and create a ball up - job done.

Good players get the ball and dish it off to the team’s advantage by keeping the ball moving or kick to a mark. Too often Motlop seems content to brace for the tackle, maybe he’s worried about turning the ball over but it’s a momentum killer.
It’s almost as if he’s asked to do it.

Sorry it just comes natural these days even though as a 60 yr. supporter I have seen 8 flags live. While I'm hoping I can witness No. 9 before I turn up my toes, I'm starting to lose optimism.
We’re of the same vintage BH, probably time for a glass of red and some Neil Diamond vinyl..…. :D

I would love to join you for that glass of red GB, but unfortunately I have given up the drink these days since I had
brush with cancer a little while back, but still partial to listening to the great ND.

Getting beaten by Essendon's VFL team at the MCG during the year of their drug suspensions would have to be one of the worst loses we've ever had. I'd been looking forward to that game for years. I wanted us to smash them off the park, and show them that cheating had consequences. Imagine letting that rabble off the hook? It was disgraceful.
I’m not one to lose my temper.

But I have to embarrassingly admit I put a costly hole through the wall because of this game.

The Rd 1 loss to Richmond was comical if anything.

Easily the most soul destroying loss I've had to witness other than '93 GF.
