In The Australian today there's an article about the Blues targeting Everitt from Bulldogs

Even quotes Swann, who says the Blues would be willing to trade pick 27, but not 11. Doubt the Doggies would go for that, they're probably looking for forwards which we can't really offer

Everitt has had a rough run with injuries, although recruited as a defender he could fill a KFP

Thoughts?

I'm not sure what his value would be to be honest but maybe if we threw in fish they would be interested. Just as another backup forward.

Everitt isnt bad, could definitely fill a spot up forward

It's a long bow to suggest Everitt playing as a key forward.

Isn't he basically a tall flanker?

He's talented but another quasi tall defender?

Doesn't make sense.

Why can't we go through one trade period where we keep or even add to our picks?

I highly doubt they would be happy with pick 27.

Maybe we could promise not to touch Barry

Because our drafting is terrible outside of pick 1s.

Everitt looks a potential star to me, his game in round 22 in the round was very exciting I am surprised the dogs are not picking him the finals

How so??? Your not another one of those who draft in hindsight are you BRIB?

Hindsight is the only way to judge things.

Name me one star we have drafted outside of pick one since Fevola?

Anyway seperate discussion if you watched the Rd 22 game Pies v Dogs u would realise how exciting this kid is. His last two years have been massively injury impacted and I for one cannot understand how he is not in the dogs side atm.

Very keen. Showed a ton of potential in his rookie year. Would have no problem giving our 2nd rounder for him

Everitt > Spangher

Why exclude the number one picks? Most 'stars' are drafted in the first round and it so happens that three of ours were number 1. At this stage it seems all three were the correct choices.

Aside from that most of the developing young guys seem to have vindicated their selection. Russell, Bower, Hampson, Grigg and Austin were all sound choices and you can't argue with Fisher and Houlihan taken in the 70's. Carrazo, Jamison and Joseph via the rookie draft, and Betts from the PSD were inspired choices in hindsight. Given the draft exclusions and the fact that during the Pagan era we gave away good picks for shit I would suggest our recruiting has been very good in recent times.

...anyway, sorry for thread drift. As for Everitt I really haven't seen enough to form an opinion...he potentially has potential. Perhaps he could fill the tall mobile swingman role that Waite was doing so well earlier in the year and we can settle Waite at CHF?

don't all tall KPP start out as tall flankers...

I thought he had some real talent when I first saw him, he might be a pretty handy pickup, I think has only recently stopped growing too, meaning all the other factors of being a good footballer might only start developing now. Wouldn't mind having him, I recon out second pick is up for grabs.

He reminds me of a young Jarrad Waite.

I like the idea of getting him and I would be happy to give our 2nd pick + Fisher for him.

If played in defence, his run and skill level down there would hopefully free up Waite to play more on his terms back and forward.

Pretty hard to stuff pick one up.. u don't pay Wayne Huges and his staff for pick one... Emma Quale or any random person could get pick 1 right.

The test of the recuriters is to pick stars like the crows have with Vince, Tippet and Dangerfield all of whom are better than any of our non pick 1s.

Pick 2 + Grigg or Russell + Fisher would do the deal for me

I like how the club are targeting these types of players (KPP types)

Going to take more than pick 27 to get the job done. Perhaps we might be able to upgrade 27 with a player trade.

Unlike the majority of posters on CSC, TC and BF perhaps the recruiting department are less confident in this draft of going down the shopping cart route, then closing their eyes and wish like hell they magically develop into the next Fevola or Waite?

I'd take Everitt.
Fisher and a 3rd. rounder?

I am not that keen to throw our second rounder around quite that readily, unless circumstance are too good to refuse.
Everitt is not quite that good for me.
