Butterss wants to take the power away from the members by putting it in the hands of the AFL. Politically a good idea if Footy First agreed, but they aren't stupid and didn't agree.

Over the next couple of months, Butterss will see the writing on the wall and stand aside.

Do you think it will take that long? I expect the mailman to be sending ballot papers out within a month.

If butters want AFL involvment, and Westway want the members to decide, thats what will happen. And by the sounds of thing they wont be sitting down to negotiate. So the only alternative would be to put it to vote. surely this will happen soon if it is the only option?

Trust me when I say that the most damaging thing than can happen here is the actual meeting. A room full of St Kilda members arguing fully throated with each other. If we cast our minds back to 1996, remember the incredible scenes at the EGMs for Melbourne & Hawthorn regarding their proposed merger? The actual meeting will be the most damaging thing.

The votes aren't cast until that day. However, proxies will be collected by each camp. When the proxy numbers are tallied up over time, Rod Butterss will see the writing on the wall. That will probably happen some time in October.

So, keeping in mind both sides desire to avoid the ugly scenes that go with an EGM, I expect one side to withdraw before then. And I believe that side will be the current administration.

problem is butterss will be voted out purely for all the bad media he has received when at the moment his ticket looks more capable at achieving what we want

The Board should be strategic IE these are the goals for the fitness dept, roughly how its organised etc etc, and then measure performance. Its the Manager's job to implement the plan.

It shouldn't have been left to GT with RB signing a cheque, thats not how a good board operates

That is why GT is gone.

I have read somewhere Lindey Fox backing. Does that scream GT to anybody else? Can this man possibly be more damaging to our club than he already is.

He had a decent legacy, now he is destroying it.

To be fair the meetings involving Melbourne and Hawthorn concerned their very existence as stand alone football clubs so I don't think you can compare that kind of hostility to the current situation.

I do agree that one side may withdraw before the meeting though. If it became apparent that one side was way in front there would be no use going through the process.
