Great news

Story suggests that Bock is back on track, hopefully there will be no further hicups as he is absolutely critical to our 2010 chances

It was also interesting reading about Danger and his injury management challenges, I can't help thinking that his back problems is having some impact on his pace

YAYYY :D:thumbsu:

Now for VB to start running pain-free...then we'll be back on track! :thumbsu:

Edit: He trained with Angus Monfries!! (Angus just tweeted that he just finished a tough training sesh with Bock :))

Bocky is such a cornerstone of not just the team but the gameplan, he is critical, so I'm sure they are being ultra conservative with him. Great news! Given his experience and the albeit limited training he has been continuing with, several weeks of fitness work should see him ready to go. :thumbsu:

Nah Bock's influence on the team is overated, slightly above average player at best.

Now I say...how embarrassing for you if you think that of Bock.
So his B&F win in 2008 means nothing and he's AA selection?? He has a massive influence on our team. If he played in the semi final, we would've won.

Brilliant news :thumbsu: We need both Bock and VB back in our sides in 2010. With those two in the side we make a prelim in 2009. It's been disheartening how they've had so much trouble so far this preseason so I very much hope they make it back on the track as soon as they start training again :thumbsu:

Does anyone remember what date that is, incidentally?

I love watching replays where he's playing. Dashing out of the back line at 100 km's per hour after destroying his man 1 on 1.

Our best player.

He's a huge fan of yours..... you make him gush.
That doesn't really help me... could be any one of a thousand people surely.

Could you be a little more specific? ;)

Said poster also claimed in the leadup to the semi vs the pies that Bock "is not a difference maker"... I certainly would rather have had him in the side that night.
I'm not sure I disagree with crow mo on that point though. Interestingly I had Bock at No. 16 on our most important player list before last season in this thread.

Then that's why he loves you. :D

Just skimming I notice most others have him top 5, even #1. While I reckon we do ok in covering him when he's out, theres no doubt we a better side when he's playing.

I think he's taking the mickey out of a certain poster who steadfastly states along the lines that Bock isn't that important to us.
;)
Someones got;) their detective hat on, I was going add a few ;)smilies but I thought that'd be too obvious ;)

so did you ever admit to who your former identity was, or are you still pretending? ;)

you're not VVM who flounced off in the campest exit since Baden Powell :)

and that's a very unsophisticated piece of analysis.
of course we would have been better off with Bock in the side.

however CHB is not a premium position, and you need to consider who we might get in exchange for Bock.

- Bock is a lousy outcome.
- Bock, + someone else who fills a need... then that might be a different

Stevens at CHB, + whatever premium player Bock would return could well lead to a better balanced, better side.

- Bock is not what anyone has *EVER* said. but don't let that concern you.

No, wrong.

I have always said CHB is not a premium position, and a player who is elite in a non-premium position, and a bit above average in a more key post isn't worth as much as it appears on the surface.

There's a new article of the AFC web site that states Danger has had an injury free preseason and is flying. Yet the above article states Danger is still managing a stress related injury and that it has "cracked right through now".

Someone has got it wrong?

He was stressed and dropped his coffee mug.

Good to hear Bock is coming back. IMO he is our most important player. When he is out our backline structure is not right, and our backline is our biggest strength. He sets up so much of the play with his rebound out of there. As well as that he is the one that positions all our guys back there. When he is out the shape of the bakline is different. And we dont have as much run from there.

Danger has had stress fractures since he first started training here (speculatively, it seems that they changed their system of bringing youngsters into main training from their first session right after that so perhaps it was in response to that?) that have been managed ever since and cause no major problem other than pain.

In terms of his ability to play football, not hampered at all. In terms of being sore at night time, still there :(
