Wow, pretty good news for us.

Without Lloyd and Lucas, they have a skeleton forward line. Without Ryder, Maric and Sellar should have a day out*

*as much as possible for Maric and Sellar :p

He barely hit, but hit him nontheless. Remember the days when 'attempted' striking got you games. You only had to swing and miss and you got one. His intention was pretty clear. There is a fair amount of red mist between Hawthorn and Essendon, to be doing stuff like that in Round 22 when the winner was guaranteed a final is mind blowing.

Both Michael Hurley and Jay Neagle are very good player and should not be taken lightly. This won’t be a complete walk in the park, not expecting to lose but Essendon won’t roll over and just die.

That just simply isn't true.

Neagle would have to be one of the worst players in the AFL getting a regular game.

Hurley looks a gun, but they may have to use him down back, and Neagle well he is just out of his depth, I see Rutten chewing him up and spitting him out again for a doughnuts game.

Hurley would have been a great Bock match up, Truck will likely get Neagle. Hurley if very good, though young. Hopefully Stevo is on his smart game i.e not trying to mark balls he should be punching.

Hurley can go to either end, but without Lloyd and Lucas, their thin up front. Though if Ryder goes, Hooker will likely ruck some, which means they may need him there....

I still think you'll see Hurley up forward.

Hurley, yes. Neagle, no.

In all fairness to Neagle, I think a lot of you are under-rating him. He kicked 3 goals on 4-5 occasions this year against the likes of St.kilda, Geelong e.t.c. Also on the slimness of our forward line without Lloyd and Lucas, Lloyd missed a month before Saturday and didn't kick a goal on the weekend, so we've been winning games without them. I'm expecting Ryder and Lonergan to challenge, perhaps Lloyd as well, but only downgrade the severe contact part.
