Good as gawn, evidently. Will probably sign with Denver in the off-season, given we can't really compete with either them, Utah, Phoenix etc. etc. He's asking 4.5per over 4 years, which will take him until 35 years of age.

Now this opens a whole bunch of possiblities. There is a very good chance that he gets traded before the deadline, in order to land a player who would perhaps be seen as a better contributor coming into the play-offs. SAR and Erick Dampier are mentioned as options.

Given his injury, age and contract demands, you'd be lucky to get Jake Voshkul for him, let alone Dampier (money aside).

I'd love him to come to Memphis should we miss out on Kobe though.

I know you mention money aside, but Bones has an expiring contract, which is gold in this league... particularly when said player gives you any value whatsoever, which I think we can agree he does.

Golden State is shopping Dampier, in order to get some cap room (KB8?), and I wouldn't think Barry would be a bad contigency with the possibility of NVE/Damp for Rasheed not going down. Besides, they don't have to re-sign him at the end of the season, infact, that would be their plan, I presume.

A deal that was explored by writer Frank Hughes was basically Barry for Snow; Snow has been making noises about wanting to leave Philly, and Barry would fit the 76ers need for offense and a big guard with Iverson very well.

However the injury and Denver/money rumours may rule out a deal such as this.

Barry is one of my faves. Has been excellent value and a fun player to watch. Always gives 100% and wouldn't mind him as another weapon at Minnesota coming off the bench rotating with the Alien and Spree.
