i was at a mates place sunday and we were eating some really greasy food after a huge night on the victor bravos. and there it was. the reincarnation of the greatest figurine to grace our planet. needless to say after some months of silence boony was quick to point out it was time for a beer. poor lad must have been hungry as well, couldnt get enough of the nachos.

I've got 2 Boonies - Much to my wife's disgust - I haven't been able to throw them away since summer - 'cos I couldn't stand the thought of poor old Boonie possibly coming alive again while face down under metres of rubbish at the local tip.....(something out of a horror movie.... ).........so the "Boonie Twins" have been sitting on top of the fridge ever since.

....imagine my surprise and relief when he fired up again on Sunday morning !!! .....

Now I'll never be able to throw them away.......

Whats all this about?? I was a huge David Boon fan? From what I gather its a small David Boon figurine and you buy it and it never says anything? Then 6 months down the track it goes off and starts commenting on stuff and scaring the crap out of you in the process??

The Boonie figurine was a VB promotion for the summer one day series.
He didn't fire up until the games were on and then he would make random comments throughout the games, (apparently getting some signals from the tellie during telecasts). But Boonie seemed to have a mind of his own, the little blighter seemed to pipe up whenever he felt like it.

Once the series was over Boonie was supposed to die, but mysteriously has come back to life, in a very amusing way.

Do a google on it, supposed to be some kind of new technology or something.

Hahaha so glad it's not just me. He's been going off at all hours of the day....I think he's saying more now than he did during the cricket season. He had a run the other day saying like 10 things in a row, I was worried he wasn't going to stop.

I think mine is dying now, his talking is slowing down a little and getting a bit deeper.

At 2AM, mine yelled out something about Monte about 6 times, then when I went to get the phone at like 9, he kept saying something until I picked up the phone. Kept yelling in the middle of the night. This is ing weird how its happened to everybody. Everyone in my house was yelling at Boonie to shut up. Weird there going off in England.
