I'm probably a bit slow with this, but was surprised to hear today that Donald McDonald isn't coaching Box Hill next year and will just focus on an assistant role at the Hawks. Any ideas who might replace him? I guess your club is on the lookout for a few assistant coaches as well.

Possibly Terry Wallace will coach Box Hill next year.

If not the hawks will possibly get him as an assistant coach at hawthorn.

There are a huge amount of ex-players and assistant coaches probably pushing for a senior coaching role next year.

But to tell you the truth, I have no idea who will coach the Box Hill Hawks next year until the list is narrowed down a bit .

i'd hope we would talk with john blakey, i rate this guy and he has already showed interest in coaching so i reckon he would be the one and no terry wallace isn't coming back to hawthorn.... he wouldn't want a coaching job at a vfl side, he'd want an afl job!

If Blakey coaches anywhere next year it may be with the Swans. He and Roos are still very close.

Blakey was used by Roos to talk to the young Port Melbourne (Swans) players before last weeks VFL Grand Final.

Expect a current VFL assistant coach or a topline coach in another competition (eg. amateurs).
Possibly an AFL player that has been out of the game for a while, but not likely.

Apparently, the job is being made a part-time position, so expect a different structure than we had with D-Mac.

Would not suprise me if Donald McConald will coach Norht Melbourne next year has the senior coach. His name ha been mention and fits in to criteria of what North Melbourne are after, That is he is been a former North Melbourne player, and a rookie coach who has with 10 years experince in the VFA/VFL, and he won;t cost us a fortune like Pagan, Wallace, Blight, Eade.

Also might be right about John Blakey migth end up in Sydney if he decides to move there has he close to Paul Roos. But also keep in mind that Dennis Pagan favourite player at North Melbourne was John Blakey so, John Blakey might end up at Carton has an assisitant coach???

Any senior coach who is prepared to have Terry Wallace as his assistant should start writing up his applications for other jobs straight away. The role he played getting rid of Alan Joyce was less than supportive, and I have no doubts he would do the same given another opportunity.

Already been given a job on the Hawthorn coaching panel, relating to the forward line I believe which is why the Box hill job is up for grabs.
