Well I am getting braces tommorow which is teh gayness.

I was wondering what is it like?
What should I take with me?
On the level of 1-10 how much gayness does it involve?

Mate, it aint that bad.

I had em on for a year and a half (had the other option of having my jaw broken and re-aligned and braces for 6 months... but there was no way that was gonna be happening!)

The first couple of days ya teeth are a bit sore, but after that its all pretty much okay :thumbsu:

(level of gayness?, id say having crooked teeth is more gay ;) )

A real, real put off.

However if they look good with braces imagine what they'd look without em.

I believe i had one day off.. you know the day i went and got the braces on!!

I think you're getting braces mixed up with getting your wisdom teeth out. You need at least a week for that.

(edit.. carlton supporter.. didnt realise. Yeah take a week off then)

It is amazing what a transformation braces makes on a girl. I mean take this typical thai girl as an example.

Well i am 18 now and at uni and just got my braces at the start of the year. It is pretty annoying. The first week will be hardest it'll hurt to eat a bit and u will get tonnes of stuff stuck in ur braces but after that it gets easier.

You eventually pretty much forget they are there and so do all ur mates. They can effect how much u pick up but if anything i've gotten more with braces than i had without braces so everythings goin alright for me..

It depends how much teeth and gum you show when you smile too. Like at uni i went to class with people for like 12 weeks before they noticed i had em lol. I have learnt to keep them well hidden. Just remember mate that you will be better for it in the end and very happy with the result. Straight teeth=:thumbsu:
 
I had mine off about a month ago now...after nearly 3 years with them! I hated it, by the end of it I was prepared to rip the things off. They hurt when u get them on/get them tightened, otherwise they're just there, you'll get used to them. How long do you need them for?

Brace face, brace face, brace face!!

I got mine off when I was 16 now I have the perfect smile of course. It hurts when you get them on for a few days. I didn't eat anything but yoghurt. After a while it gets better then when you get them off it's all slimey and it feels really weird. I still have some thin metal piece about 2 cm's long behind my top and bottom teeth. Not noticeable as they are hidden and don't interfere at all.

Yeah u will find most people who get braces will have that piece of wire behind their bottom front teeth. I ate nothing but custard and frozen yoghurt when i first got my braces too...

I've had them for almost 7 months now and have still only had like 4 botles of coke which is a decent effort.

Nah when i signed up to this forum many years ago i put my dob as 84 or something cause some forums had swear filters n stuff only on people who were under 18, so i changed the year to one that would make me 18...

Which i am now but as i said wasnt at the time.
