I think Bailey needs to give him the forward 50 to make his own. Miller has to go.
COURAGEOUS utility Brad Green is hoping for career longevity so he can experience the resurgence that Melbourne is building towards.
Ahead of his 200th AFL match against Collingwood on Saturday, the 29-year-old said he had a desire to play into his mid-30s.
"If the captaincy comes my way, I'll take it with two hands and hopefully we're developing a strong leadership group underneath us," he said.
"I saw the replay of it on Monday. I can remember waking up in the changerooms - that's all I can really remember of it.
"The doc said, 'Watch the second quarter and we'll try and get you out there in the second half'. I said, 'Doc, I'm ready' and I just wanted to get out there and I was egging him on. I got about two or three minutes left in the second quarter and then played the second half."
He said that match, along with the elimination final win over St Kilda in 2006 and victories over Fremantle and the Brisbane Lions in 2007, were among the highlights of his career to date.
My wife is also two weeks away from having a baby, so we're all excited around the family. Away from footy, things are going great," he said.
"I don't know if the father-son rule is going to come into play yet, but hopefully either way we get a keen daughter who is a Melbourne fan or a keen guy who might be able to run out wearing the red and blue."
MELBOURNE forward Brad Green says the Demons simply want to keep winning back the respect of the footy world during the remainder of the season, despite the fact they can still mathematically make the finals.
Green booted five goals as the Demons won their fifth game of 2010, defeating Essendon by 19 points at the MCG on Sunday.
The victory means Melbourne is only 10 points behind eighth-placed Hawthorn with seven home-and-away games to play.
“We spent two-and-a-half years in the doldrums, we got our pants pulled down for two-and-a-half years, so it’s about getting respect back and earning some pride for this footy club,” Green said at recovery on Monday.

Brad Green was today announced as the 41st captain of the Melbourne Football Club in front of the playing group, staff and directors at AAMI Park.
Green replaces James McDonald as skipper for 2011, with Aaron Davey, Brent Moloney and Jared Rivers named as his vice captains.
The 2010 Best and Fairest winner, who has played 220 games since a stunning debut season in 2000, said the privilege of leading the Club was one that was very special to him.
“It’s certainly a great honour and an exciting challenge to lead this group in 2011. It’s a privilege that I will cherish to be captain of such a proud history at the Melbourne Football Club.
“This club has come a long way since I walked into Junction Oval on my first day at the Club back in 2000, and that’s reflective of where we are as a team. We have come a long way, but I’m excited about where we are going.

How has your first AFL captains’ day been?
BG: There has been plenty on, but it’s one I’ve really enjoyed, mixing with the captains from around the clubs. It was really good having lunch with them and the AFL commission, which was great.
What have you got out of the day?
BG: It’s been good to see how the other captains’ pre-seasons have been going and the way they’ve all prepared and the way they’ve gone about it. It’s been good catching up with players you know from playing against or ones that you’ve been on tour with, which has been great.
Was there any captain you hadn’t met until today?
BG: I’ve been lucky enough to have met them all before. The thing about the club captains is that they’re all great players and you tend to look up at them and think about the way they go about their footy, which is what I try and do.
Of the club captains, who do you know the most?
BG: I know Adam Goodes and Matthew Boyd after touring with them last October, when playing for Australia. It was good getting to know them well in Ireland and that relationship is great for something like today.
Have there been any amusing stories to come out of the day?
BG: No, not really. It’s all been pretty straight forward, but it’s been a great day to be a part of.

He played more as a forward this year, rather than spending time in the midfield and up forward. He still kicked 37 goals.
