He's probably our second most important player in terms of forward structure by providing an option on either side of the ground while Murphy occupies the corridor.

Considering we don't have that Franklin or Pavlich as an option his 6-7 grabs a game are very important.

I had a little kid in a bulldogs scarf next to me last night who spent the whole night yelling about how much he hates Brad Johnson! WTF! He couldn't have been older than 9 or 10. This anti-Johnno virus is starting to spread. Idiots.

Yeah that's gotta be a parenting thing as mentioned earlier. I remember when I was a kid I loved everyone who pulled on the red white and blue just cause they were Bulldogs players. I'm still like that in a way But I can also understand why certain players may frustrate supporters.

When it comes to Brad Johnson though, I can't understand it at all. Anyone that jumps on him after two or three bad games really needs to look back over his career and see what he's given us. That's of course ignoring the fact he's been absolutely brilliant in the past 4 or 5 weeks. He'll retire owing us absolutely nothing.

My son is nearly 11 has been wearing #6 on his back since he first went to watch games when he was 5 and he still loves Brad. Methinks he has more loyalty than plenty of (presumably adult) posters.

Johnno is a freak.
Strongest overhead mark in the game for his size, can play in and under when required and was carrying the ball running away from much younger opponents on Friday night. Still has a little bit of mongrel in him, too.

His passion for the game, and the club, is fantastic. One of our greats, still playing good footy. Everyone has down a game, or games, but Johnno seems to get out of his slumps quicker than others. And remember, Johnno has missed only a handful of games over the years due to injury.

He will probably become the club's games record holder. Shame to take it away from Granty, but no-one can say he doesn't deserve it.

To anyone who knocks him: show me a better quality, more consistent, tougher career than Johnno's.

If you can, then that's straight confirmation that:
a) you never played the game - at any level
b) if you played the game, you didn't understand it, couldn't get a kick and are bitter about it
c) you are still looking for the 2nd brain cell to go with the 1 you have now.

After reading all the Johnno knockers on this board, I'm almost waiting for threads like "Grant couldn't play", or "Sutton had no idea" or even "West was a dud", etc. to match the anti Johnno stuff.

This thread keeps changing depending on Brads form. He plays a good game and the your full off crap Johno is a champion bla bla bla comes out. He plays crap and the I told you his is finished and is no longer a viable player.

Facts are he is an aging champion at the end of his time in football. Based on current form and his body I would say he has value for another season. I hope he goes out on top myself and knows when his time has come unlike others who need to be pushed.
