Hi all. Some of you may remember I posted after you beat us Lions at the Gabba. I am still tipping you blokes to be there at the end though I am worried about the loss of Byron and Aaron. Still you seem to have good depth this year. Again good luck.

I am actually here to ask about Brad Miller. On the Lions board the issue of Aker departing and who we might trade with has reared it's head. Also due to injuries in our backline that are now devestating we are talking about an Aker Miller trade as Miller is a Qlder, has over 50 games under his back and has a good competative streak. As with these things it may or may not happen but what would a team board be for without speculation.
Anyway.........
Do you think that that is a good trade given that if not this year but IMO next you will be pushing for a flag?
I am sure I watched Miller play at CHB this year and he was making a very good fist of it until his suspension. Am I right?

This is probably Miller's worst year thus far. I don't think he is a massively talented player but he is a goer, plays with heart and hasn't been given a true chance to prove his worth as vice-captain.

To be honest I don't think we would trade him and I dont think we'll go for Aker unless some kind of 'Byron' style trade can be orchestrated.

That's not saying Aker wouldn't be a great pick up I just don't think we'll give up someone like Miller for him.

Miller has had a pretty dissapointing year but some past performances show that he is a very good player, although just down on confidence at the moment. He is a big chance to return to the side this week however. He has spread his time between CHF and CHB, shutting down barry hall once. I think that if offered the lions would certainly accept a straight swap between aker and millsy, although im not to sure that dees would accept it. Although on the other hand its a good point that you make regarding proximity to a flag and aker could be our man, though any premiership tilt really needs miller involved. Ryan ferguson could be offered imo, the word is the demons have tried to trade him before with the likes of rivers and carroll ahead of him for spots in the backline.

Has potential and he should be able to force Holland out of the team over the next year. Wouldn't trade him for Aka, we need as much KPP depth as we can get.

I'd trade miller away for anyone in a heartbeat, let alone for someone with the talent of Aker. Miller is often a liability who has no skills whatsoever. He cant take contested marks, or even uncontested marks and has poor decision making skills. Everyone remeber when he tapped the ball straight to Aker in the brissie ghame this year? That was because he was scared of the body contact which he thought he may get if he held onto the ball. Dunn is, and will always be twice the player as Miller.

I also would trade miller he is one of the most overratted players on our list, Although he will prob go to brisbane or sydney and be a star

Miller is overrated and i would have Smith ahead of him at this stage, Dunn miles ahead of the both of them. Ferguson and Warnock can be our KPP depth, with even Bizzell to cover them so depth isnt an issue in my mind.

To be fair to Miller, he has done a bit at AFL level, Smith hasn't.
I am undecided on whether Miller for Aker in a straight swap would be good.
