Great to see him play up forward the other day and play so well. I'm pretty sure he was a forward as a junior, so the decision to play him for so long down back was strange, and obviously only done to cover the hole left by Nicholson, Ellis and Broadbridge out.

I still think the best time to judge him will be against sides with better, older and more experienced defenders playing on him.

No doubt he played a great game at Centre Half Froward, one of the toughest positions on the ground. He's looked good up forward in the past so it wasn't too surprising.

He was obviously filling in down back & looked out of his depth. I hope we persist with him forward for a while, i'm not sure he'll be the answer long term but now's the time to find out about him.

I'm guessing Thornton will pick him up this week & it should be a good test for both youngsters. If he gets off to a good start perhaps Whitnall or Koutoufides could be moved on to him, what a test for the kid! Hardest thing in footy is backing it up, just ask Brent Grgic! Bring it on!
