It says on the AFL site's draft tracker that he is a ruckman with only limited football background after converting from Rugby. Has exceptional speed.

Happy with this selection. We needed to draft another young tall. Long term prospect as it sounds like he still has a bit to learn, but physically he sounds like a big unit who can cover the ground. Being a pommie i wonder what nickname the boys will give him.

There was a story last night on Sports Tonight about a tall Queenslander who was a chance of being picked after only 15 games of Aussie Rules. He came from a Rugby background. I didn't hear his name, but this guy maybe the one. They showed missing a shot at goal from 15metres out directly in front. I think it missed the the behind as well.

Devo, I think that's Tom Williams- went at 6 to the dogs.

Go Roos

Merci.

Probably a good thing, 'cause the guy could kick.

Happy with this pick. We got the gun recruit at 42, why not take a chance on an X-factor like Moran? His physical attributes are certainly very intriguing.

From that article:

With a soccer, rugby union and rowing background the 200cm Moran has made rapid progress in AFL, representing Queensland in the National Bank's AFL Under 18 Championships this year and last month won the Billy Hardy Medal for Best on the Ground for Southport in the Pineapple Hotel Cup grand final for AFL Queensland’s Reserve grade.

Gotta love Queensland :p

Amazing speed for someone who stand two metres. I wonder if he can mark?

Also he is from Stratford upon Avon, can anyone here tell me who else came from there and is quite famous .
