There's a difference between being gifted 30 games and earning them. Much more to be learnt by playing in the two and earning a spot in the seniors.

Yes there is. Luckily, Maynard has earned his games.

I think the problem with Maynard is that some people expect him to be the next Pendlebury, bound to lead to disappointment.

No one expects that. I don't think I've ever seen someone ask for him to be as good as Pendlebury. I'd just like him to be a competent footballer that doesn't bring calamity with the majority of his disposals. I'd be content with that.

I guess you dont like Dangerfield then!

I know you're being hyperbolic, but not hitting the target every time and causing calamity with almost every possession aren't the same thing.

I don't get the Maynard doubts.
He's going to be, in my view, A grade as a defender.
He's a beast in the making.
Great we have him

He's a worry type.
IMO he is very slow and lacks agility to play off half back.
He gets torched by quick movement.

His left foot is overrated as he very rarely spots up passes via quality decision making. He is very much a straight line tunnel vision type.
He has aggression but it counts for little because he can't think his way through situations often getting caught holding the ball trying to break through tackles in def 50 or bombing away when other players in his position competition wide spot targets and lower the eyes.

raise in what
Raise in pay grade.

From club plant to club vegetable.

I'm at cauliflower these days.

(Folks in case you are not sure, I am joking.
I'm not a plant, I'm not an animal, I'm a human being)

Maynard?
I must be watching someone else. But I will look at out for your points.
Might just be me.

Watch him closely SV.
I was hoping he could be Birchall type but he is nowhere near it.

Maynard will be a 200 game player for Collingwood

If Bucks remains coach- lock it in.

I like some things maynard does but has no composure. Seems like he is having a epileptic fit every time he touches the ball
Not sure we can talk about epilepsy like that these days.
But that's an aside.

The guy is what 20, he's a bull in the making, in my view.
Developing.
Can see him reaching A grade defender level, that's the upside I see.
