Bucks reiterated what McRae said about his shoulder. Has been dealing with it for 5-6 years, so doesn't see it as something that will prevent him playing.

I think he had surgery before this season, but not sure if that was for some further damage. Seems to think it's something he'll have to deal with for his career. No idea myself, just relaying.

They've never been able to fix it?
Shoulders are funny things. Sometimes “fixing it” could make things worse from a mobility perspective. Lyon came in strong on it last night in a dipshitty headline hunting type of way so it was good to hear Bucks throw cold water on it. He’ll miss at some stage between now and the end of the season perhaps even multiple weeks if the next fortnight is win win for us and loss loss for Port.

If top 2 is sewn up with a week or 2 to go he may be rested. Although it sounds like the only fix is surgery so it mightn't achieve much. Good luck telling him hes not playing any game though. :tearsofjoy:

Not bad for Pick 30. I remember nobody really rating him in his draft year, and I wanted Connor Blakely

Worries me if we did this. Resting because already secured top two.
Shades of 2011 when we couldn’t lose top spot. Didn’t show up for the last game of the home and away season and lost to Geelong. Then ultimately lost to them at the big dance.

I've heard a few talk about this. Apparently we didn't throw that final game. Scott had worked out that with 45 degree kicks you could just kick it around and straight past our press. We hadn't worked out to add outliers to the press yet. Hence us not playing the press in finals.

Don’t think we threw the game but because it was of no consequence to our ladder position, we had a lot of passengers trying to preserve themselves for the next week.

Since the addition of the week off, I don't think momentum from the season is as important anymore.

Best for us to win our next three and then the last three games are not must win. We should compete but priorities management where needed.

No it won’t fix anything, but he’s clearly playing through pain at the moment. The cumulative effect of that pain is what I’d be looking to avoid with time off. He seemed to reach a threshold v GC where they made the call to rest it only two weeks following a bye so if it goes that way they’d be aiming to freshen him up pre finals. If he comes out breathing fire in the QF like he did v Freo after a week off that would be a good foundation for the rest of the squad.

He is the onfield Millane of this team. The captain in spirit. From day one he has brought a hard edge that is a key to any champion team. Shoulder or not we have a player that will give his all and the type of player you need to stand up in a gf. Pretty sure we cloned some champion from the 20's team, it will be the big scandal of the future.

I don't think that's accurate. I distinctly remember we absolutely annihilated them in 2010 because they were always looking for the 45 degree kick into the corridor which made them incredibly predictable. I said as much to my Geelong supporting mates at the time "keep kicking it inboard and we'll keep picking it off".

I was quite Happy we Drafted him at 30 as was reported could gone as high as Pick 14 to the Crows

I remember watching a behind the scenes video of the 2014 draft and it had a shot of Peter and Darcy Moore reacting to Maynard getting selected. Darce was absolutely stoked.

I think he said something like "Oh they picked Maynard. Hes a psycho!"

I remember seeing that once but don't know what Video

Him not appearing in the injury list confirmed most of the comments about it just being an issue that will be managed as required from this point.
When i was listening to the game on the way to the ground, Captain dipsh!t aka BT was going on and on about Maynards shoulder, say things like they better get him off the ground or else we could be without him for the rest of the year. He was acting like his shoulder was about to fall off and he couldn't lift his arm. I couldn't see it at the ground or when i watched the replay.

Seems like Bruz has been playing like that for quite some time, it seems to piss him off.

Fly said after last week's game that at some point Bruz will need to have a reconstruction on that shoulder and it's actually something that he's had for awhile.

He said this: I'm stepping outside my expertise here, but I don't think it's a typical shoulder that pops in and out that needs a full reco like some get.
