Going on with the whole relationship theme of the week on this board, anyone got any interesting break up stories?

Hooked up with this chick a while back for the sole reason of getting a regular root. Before you chastise me for being an arseh*le, believe me when I tell you she knew this. I suspect she was hoping it would grow into something more though.

Anyway, this chick always waited for me to make the first move in terms of contact. Never sms'd/called me first, or suggested we go and do something together. Always waited for me...if i'm doing all the chasing she has all the power. She also played stupid mind games with replying to sms or answering the phone (good old fashioned hard to get). When I finally had enough I just stopped contacting her. After about 3 weeks of no contact she finally sms's me with "we need to break up".

well, der!

I think after 3 weeks of no contact she got the hint that it was over, but just to make it like she broke up with me she put it into writing first.

Ok, not that interesting. But certainly highlights how warped some peoples idea of relationships is.

Me and my ex both celebrated our birthdays on the same Saturday night - at different venues. I walked from Prahran to Port Melbourne to see her and we ended up ending it that night. Happy birthday!

It was more interesting than that when it happened.

That girl is a ****ing idiot and I would have put her in her place by laughing in her face regarding her 'final say', breaking down her stupid mind games and explaining them to her briefly, explaining this is why you left her for weeks, before making her cry as deserved.

Hardly a break up, but anyway.

Hooked up with a girl back in year ten and ended up going out with her a few times.

Was watching TV one night and heard my message tone. Went to check it and realised she'd sent me an SMS that was meant for her friend. Pretty much said that she wasn't keen on going on with it and that our month long 'relationship' wasn't going to be going for much longer.

Sent her a message asking her about what the **** I'd just read and got a reply telling me to piss off and she was trying to get to sleep.

Was slightly amused, bordering on homicidal.

exactly the same story, however i think mine was in yr 9.

^Is it possible the girl was pretending to text someone else, when she was really sending you guys the msg 'accidentally', simply because she didn't have the balls to do it directly? Seems plausible to me.

Girl told me she slept with some other dude, so i said go **** yourself, i dont want to be with you, and she should go kill herself and nobody would care

Harsh but fair.
Similar sort of thing happened to me, expect my words were less harsh along the line of '...you ****ing ****!!! we're breaking up right now!'

Yeah pretty tame and standard, problem was at the time we were both waiting for a bus to the same party. Most awkward 20 minutes of my life til we got there.

Some women have seriously warped minds in that regard. I remember a female friend of mine kept receiving SMS's all night but not responding. Curiosity got the better of me and I asked what was up with that? She said it was a guy she went out with for a few weeks, but decided she doesn't want to see him and is ignoring him until he gets the hint.

I thought there was obviously more to the story, so asked the natural follow up question, "you told him you're not interested and he's still contacting you?". Her answer? "no, i can't be bothered dealing with that".

The problem is, men are the hunters and women are the hunted. We men will press for longer than we should when chasing a woman.
Women, desirable women at least, constantly have men chasing them. It gets to the point where knocking guys back becomes so routine that the blokes feelings are no longer taken into consideration.

I've actually heard a bloke be told men have no feelings. Was pretty funny, he went on to put the bitch in her place before ending it. :D

Guys that get ignored but don't get the message are idiots. It's not the woman's fault in this situation.

^Context please.

If a great time was had, then all of a sudden the girl just can't be ****ed, she should woman the **** up and tell the guy, instead of being a stupid ********. In such a case, the guy has absolutely no reason to think anything is wrong, and I can see why he'd try to contact her a couple times. There is a number though where a guy should get the idea, but ****, women should at least have the balls to make a decision and be upfront about it.

When it comes to courage, men > women in most things.

That is a load of shit.

By that logic it would be fair to say women that don't leave an abusive relationship deserve it.

What a complete load of justifying rubbish. I've read some crap on this site, but every now and again someone still manages to comes along and makes you just shake your head in disbelief

Yeah, whatever. Women are terrible and men shouldn't have to take any responsibility in the courting process

Let me get this straight, and I'm making the assumption you are female here:

If a bloke broke up with you by ignoring you completely for 3 weeks, you would be completely fine with that?

And you've completely lost the plot with that responsibility line, crude sarcasm though it may be, I'm gathering that it's your impression that men take no responsibility in the relationship process, specifically "courting"?. First off we're talking about being dumped, not courting, so your statement has absolutely no relevance. Secondly, even if you do take it to mean being dumped, the person being dumped hardly has a responsibility conflict. So once again your statement has no relevance. And even if you do take it at face value the statement is blatantly incorrect! Men take no responsibility in the courting process?!?!?!?! Are you insane!!!!!!??? Men take ALL the responsibility in a courting situation. It's up to us to make the first move, make the first call for a date, to make the first move on the first kiss. Chicks sit back and do nothing but bitch about us not calling or what not, they put absolutely NOTHING on the line. And then if they are not interested, you're played along for weeks because they don't want to seem like the bitch they are and it's OUR fault for not figuring it out. Yeah, that logic make perfect sense.

My best mate, who was going out with a girl for three years, was broken up with over email, during the middle of work, with no clue or sign that it was going to happen. THAT....is cold!

If your ex can tell their break up story without breaking into a cold sweat, shaking and looking around nervously..... you let them get off too easily!
