Is there any chance of seeing him replacing Barry Hall this year at Full-Forward? Is he still on the injured list? Last time I checked he was.

I hope to see him this year. I know Lewis Johnston is sadly injured. Murphy could be the one to replace Hall at Full-Forward.
 
From what I've read of the ressies reports, he's being groomed as a defender rather than a forward. With Barlow and White both showing signs up forward, and Murphy a bit out of match practice as he only recently returned from injury, I would say we won't be seeing Murphy at FF any time soon.

I'd love to see it happen (as Murphy has a lot of up sides) but unfortunately i don't think its that likely.

Sighhh ... this is ridiculous.

We need a full forward: we have a bloke of 21, 100-odd kilograms, about 197cm tall, big lad, very athletic and has just kicked eight goals as a key forward in the seconds.

His name is Jesse White.

There's no need for discussion, or throwing up the names of Johnston or Murphy or anyone else. White comes in, he'll do the job, just give him the same service we should've been giving Baz.

MOL plays alongside him for the rest of this season, surely that's gotta be a good thing for White.

Once he's given the chance to play full forward, just stay there and play, his confidence will grow and we'll all see what he can do.

Yep, but hopefully when selectors are sitting down to pick this week's team they'll notice the eight goals next to the name White in last week's reserves match.
 
My Dad asked today what would happen now Baz was gone and I told him we had a guy in the Reserves who just kicked 8, and he was amazed, and asked why he hadn't been given a look in this season. Told him he had, Jesse White. He was a bit puzzled, asked why he's been played in the ruck if he's so obviously a forward.

NO NO NO hes a defender i dont think i have ever seen brendan kick a goal

Any way lately before Currie injured himself they were playing him for much longer stints in the forward line...actually currie has enough pace to take make a lead and mark the ball strongly

Keep Currie and Jesse and Lewis forward

Train Pyke to be a ruck along with Jolly and bring Orreal in...who also can move forward

Because Currie has been injured, and Pyke and Orreal are raw. Even out of position, White is our best second ruck option.

I've seen Brendan kick many. Well, maybe not quite many, but certainly a handful. He seems to enjoy kicking them almost as much as Vez.

Somewhere down the line I reckon he could turn into an exciting forward to watch because he absolutely loves the bash and crash, almost Hall style. Whether he'll ever learn the game well enough to know where to run to be dangerous as a forward is another matter.

But yes, his immediate future looks to be as a backman.

I really want Murphy in the seniors soon (within the next few weeks). I know he has mostly been playing down back but with our forward line issues i hope he can become a good forward. He has all the skills to be very damaging in the forward line.

Well, up until a few weeks ago we had a pretty handy forward already.
