I have a feeling this kid will kick a big bag of goals soon!
And with Anthony and Medhurst out the side – his big chance may come against St Kilda.

Yeah I had this feeling last week, and early on Anzac day when he kicked his first then should have taken the mark straight after to kick his second... He just seems like he is going to cut loose any time soon and I hope its this week. His forward pressure is very good, is a good set shot kick, and I would play him out of the goal square, with Anthony out of the side this week... Hope he is persisted with cuz the kid knows how to kick goals.... With young kids growing up as forwards who kick a lot of goals (Most goals in the TAC Cup), you know it will hold them in good stead, and you have confidence in them kicking a heap, whereas forwards like Trav Cloke, im not sure if he ever kicked a bag of goals consistently in his junior days or even early on at VFL level, and it makes you think that he could not be as damaging... Not saying that Trav wont be a superstar I just dont think we will see him constantly kicking a 4-5 goals a match...

I've got a lot of time for this kid.

He can play tall, great hands, creative and applies defensive pressure in teh forward line. It's only a matter of time before he cuts loose, and shows the footy world how good he is.

I do not want to put the pressure on him as I have never had a good record at picking who can play and who cannot

A little bit of my history Swanny & Heater both a bit small nothing special can only kick 40 metres and not fast enough. I watched Marty Clarke at Sandringham one day and saw him change direction four times to cost four goals. In short none of them were going to make It OOOPS.

Saw Chris Dawes against Box Hill and Geelong VFL last year and I was ready to say look out Buddy!

So all that being said I have seen enough in Macaffer's two games to suggest he might be another Rookie List Champ. I do like players who know how to kick goals.

Also when we picked up that Fremantle Dockers Idiot Medhurst I thought what are they doing at Collingwood time to sack the coach, the president and everyone else, we just needed a bit more time working with Tazza. Oops again actualy a blody big oops

So unlike most football comentators and bloggers on BigFooty I sometimes get it wrong.

But looking forward to Macaffer kicking a few this week (and i have not lost faith in Dawes)

WOW atleast you admitt it not like most on this board they paid out on Medhurst and then when he started playing great footy all of the baggers said they knew he was going to be a star

He doesnt look out of place Macaffer

I like him i hope he gets a proper chance in the seniors with a few injuries that we have atm.

He looks like a good future prospect but something tells me that when Dids is fit and ready to go the caff will make way.

And im with TheClokes i can see him kicking a bag sooner rather than later

I've thought the same thing BEEG and it's one of the things I get most comfort from when watching new players.

Cook and Beams are two examples I can think of. Cook just looked nervy and unsettled to me whereas Beams looked like he had played 50 games.

I think Macaffer has that healthy level of confidence/arrogance that JA has that makes them look undaunted by the task.

I actually think Maccaffer is less likely to kick goals without Medhurst and Anthony. He is a very smart footballer. Has a great work rate and can kick straight. He will however have trouble beating good defenders consistantly. With Medhurst and Anthony similar in size and style to Maccaffer he is more likely to get a mismatch and get under a teams gaurd.

To early to judge i think. Would like to see a few more games and a bit more game time before i make a call. Will make way as soon as Dids is fit so i hope he makes the most of his time in the seniors.
Still i hope he turns out alright (as with all Collingwood players) and we should know a bit more after Monday.

Caf always pays (well so far) 51-1 to kick the first goal of the match with TAB Sportsbet. I've put $20 on him each time, and been so very close both times...i feel it will be worth the investment soon...get on board!

I like the kid, his forward pressure is immense and a very good sign. Another good, young middle sized forward. Hopefully he kicks 3 or 4 this week, but I don't think so against the Saints.

Wow, really?

Normally the Saints start fast, so I won't do it this week.

But maybe against the Blueees. A nice 1k return would be great!

Shows plenty of promise but, i think he will be more the slow burner than the breakout star.

Piling heaps of pressure on him to suggest he will kick a bag in a depleted forward line against a very in-form Saints defence.

Don't worry, I would doubt he would read this forum...
