Certainly will, hang in there, our thoughts are with him & his family

I watched the race at lunch when I was bored and thought his mount had a fair shot at winning

Loomed dangerously before it planted him head first into the turf

Very nasty, all the best to him

Thought of you Fullta soon as I heard.
Hope both pull through, keep us updated on any inside news Fullta.
Don't normally prey but I will certainly make an exception here.

I've just got home to Melbourne after spending the day at the Warrnambool track watching my runner go around.

Obviously, I saw the fall close up, live and it was sickening. He has been flown to Melbourne and is on life support.

Everyone at the track was silent and speechless for a long time after we saw what happened.

Thought & prayers absolutely with him.

Talk about putting a dampener on a day trip down there - all of us could think of nothing but him hopefully making a full recovery.

Terrible news, I have never met the boy but have always liked his riding style and meant to be a great kid. My thoughts are with him. Please update if you hear any news. These falls are really becoming too frequent.

Ditto everyone's thoughts. Hope it turns out better than it sounds for Brenton.....

APPRENTICE jockey Brenton Primmer was in a critical condition last night after a fall at Warrnambool races yesterday.

Primmer, 18, was put in an induced coma at the South West Health Care hospital with head injuries and three possible fractured vertebrae in preparation for a trauma team from The Alfred hospital. The Alfred team arrived about 7pm after being delayed because of wet and windy conditions in Warrnambool. Primmer was due to arrive in Melbourne about 10 o'clock last night.

Primmer's family, all from Warrnambool, and his boss, local trainer Matthew Williams, were by his side in the hospital's intensive care unit.

Primmer's father Mark said the doctors believed, because of the induced coma, it could be up to 48 hours before they knew the full extent of his injuries.

Primmer was speared into the turf head first when his mount Hyped appeared to clip the heels of another runner.

Jockey Wayne Hokai, who was following on Cobrico Road, also crashed and he was taken to hospital with a suspected broken collarbone and broken wrist.

Hokai was also flown back to Melbourne on a later plane last night and admitted to The Avenue Hospital in a satisfactory condition.

Williams, who trains Hyped, said the fall happened so quickly that Primmer had no chance to prepare himself. Hokai, 46, returned to riding six months ago after being seriously injured when a horse reared over and fell on him in April last year.
