Little forgotten point, Richo was not always the affable and all-encompassing great and giving guy he is now ...... he needed a good few kicks up the behind in his earlier days in regards to treating fans, particularly after losses (which did a fair bit of back then).
He had to be taken aside a few times by Peter Schwab (who was our reserves coach back then) and mentored on how to interact with fans and taught that even if you lose by 70 points, the fans want an autograph and a chance to say hi. Fortunately Richo learned quickly and became the superstar person he is today.
Makes you wonder, if Lids was supposedly so surly, ungracious or downright rude to fans, why wasn't this addressed in his 12 years at Tigerland, why was it not addressed??? Probably speaks more about the lack of leadership during the bulk of his time that no one pulled him up on it and left him to his own devices.

That is true , when Richo retired he was a universally admired legend of the RFC , as you rightfully say many scoffed at his Petulance early on that won him few admirers outside RFC

Has anyone met Cotchin? What makes him stand out compared to Deledio ?

Hard to say without knowing them personally, from a distance they share some similar qualities , cotch prob comes across as slightly more affable , did lids ever do the footy show ?

Pity his calves are cactus, I blame Adidas. I know they've helped him over the years in terms of money, but the shoes they give him are ****ed.

Our fitness staff are partly to blame, they treated him like a bullet proof athletic robot for far too long, should've been nursing him.

Bottom line: He left us to try and get a premiership when we were bad.

Heck, even leaving 2011 would have been better; reason why he didn't leave was because he was earning good $ from a club struggling financially.

The man didn't give a **** about much else other than personal benefit, not sure why people haven't woken up to that fact.
