A shining light in a glum season. One of the few players that has emerged this year that has something special. Yes Mundy is solid down back, Crowley good and Dodd tough and consistant.

But Peake has been special to watch. Hopefully he continues to improve with his new found confidence. If only we had a few more players like him. By that i mean pacy midfielders who like to run. With a bit of luck we pick some in the draft.

Not saying i don't like Mundy, Crowley or Dodd. Its just Peake is exactly what our midfield is dying for.

His goal tonight was one of the best individual efforts I've seen in a long time. Could rank up there as one of the goals of the year.

He generally appeared to have a good night, amidst a bunch of others who struggled.

Great goal he scored tonight. If he wasn't up against some freakish efforts by Dew and Johnson (of the doggies type) I would say he will be driving a new car after winning goal of the year. You don't want to kick goals like that in a losing guernesy, it diminishes the effort

Mundy has been the better of the 2, but I don't know about anyone else, but I expected nothing of Peake and didn't think he'd last (to be honest, I didn't really know anything about him - I figured there was a reason for that).

To that end, Gotta be pretty stoked with his emergence.

The second year is the big test, can they sustain it.

Don't forget Murphy, he is filling out nicely and could be a very handy player next year.

Brett has jumped from around 37 on our list to around the top 25, well done as he has taken his chance with both hands and made the most of it.

I loved the shot of him and Cassissi doing a bit one of those macho bumping thingo's. Two East Freo boys going at it -- one the son of a legend.

His disposal has been way better than we all expected. I appreciate the way he plays the percentages, keeps it simple, and gives the forwards every chance with his delivery into the F50.

His running style is so copy book. His legs seems to turn over and his upper body hardly moves.

He'll come in for way more attention next year so will be interesting to see how he goes.

I am not a massive wrap as his defensive game is non-existant. Excellent motor however.

IMO Mundy has been the standout for Fremantle since making his debut.

I think Mundy is getting a bit less praise on here simply because he carries on like a 10 game veteran. It's hard to think he debuted this year.

A disappointing season, but quite a few shining lights. Peake, Crowley, Dodd, Mundy, Johnson. Wouldn't have known them if I'd run into them. Big development.

Also, Sandilands, Longmuir, Pavlich; all stepped up.

The other glimmer I can see is that we played well away generally.

You might be right Das that Peake lacks defensive skills but let's hope that is being worked on. I had my doubts about him at the Gummies, but on a scale of dud to champ, he will have moved out of the dud zone to the mid zone which I will call "doin ok".

Mundy has done quite well, seems to have a very good footy brain.

Maybe when he was playing a full game for the sharks fatigue got the better of him and his kicking suffered. The games I've seen him play at WAFL level his disposal was often terrible but now that he is only playing about half a game he is fresh and his skills are better.

Hopefully Bell, Matt Carr and Hasleby will be 100% for all of 2006 so that the opposition won't be able to target the likes of Peake and Crowley.

Thats right.

You rarely see poise from a player of his experience and what is even more remarkable is that he is almost always under pressure in his back half, yet he usually makes the right decision. Will be top three in the rising star.
