Re: Brett Ratten is a VERY ordinary coach

Onya Ratts. Doing a great job today!! Youve got our only forward playing in the middle, and you still havent devised some sort of gameplan to help us with our kicking in.

Every coach in the AFL knows how to beat Carlton - set up a zone defence and have idiots like Thornton chip is sideways until the inevitable turnover

RATTEN HAS NO PLAN B TO COMBAT THIS. THERE ARE NO RUNNERS TO COMBAT THE ZONE. IT IS BASIC 101 COACHING

Flood the defence and chip it around the backline until the final siren sounds. Can't afford to have this percentage being eaten away.

is F*%KING hopeless like half the team - don't deserve to play finals football!!

Wallace has been given an ultimatum by Richmond maybe Ratten should be given the same - no finals no coaching career!

Ratten you F*#KING dougnhnut stop sucking Russells' **** and drop the spud!

The forward structure was absolutely non-existent which is why Adeliaide were so dominant. Kreuzer should have gone to CHF the second Waite went off to give us something to kick to. Also, I have no idea why Fevola is being allowed to play up the ground. We are not paying him $700,000+ to run up the field chasing cheap kicks. STAY AT FULL FORWARD FEVOLA AND PROVIDE AN OPTION LIKE YOU ARE PAID TO DO.

Numb nuts it is Ratten sending him up the ground, if u listened to his press confrence last week u would of heard him say as much.

FYI Fev was very good today

First half - was that the worst structure from a coach you've ever seen?
Did Ratten start Fevola at full back and concede the game before the first bounce?

The number of idiots on here is growing by the day.

Poor form from everyone who posts on here.

I watch game after game every weekend and every team has a set up for kick ins after a behind. Why the f***K don't we ?????? Its a disgrace !!!!!

Damn it, there is no doubt Ratten continues to get out-coached by the more innovative, intelligent coaches week in, week out.

Lets be honest, he isn't the coach that will lead us to premiership no 17, despite what the apologists, look we may probably not have won today anyway, but a lot of his moves, esp in the first quarter and a half was garbage, and how he keeps leaving out Fish and Houlihan in favour of certain other underperfomring players (who shall remain nameless) is baffling ..

I want Mark Williams as coach in 2010 ..

You can't go saying things like that - sometimes TG, I fear what may be if you ever held a position of power

It is fairly understandable that some are questioning whether Ratts will be as good a coach as he was a player

Wasn't Rattens best day.

Agree with another poster...Carlton do have the worst kickins in the league.

Doesnt mean I want him sacked like other posters...just saying, not a great job today!

Agree totally, l have been a fan of Ratten, but the first quarter set up today was a joke playing Fevola in his current role is a joke, basically we had no one within the fwd 50 with a four goal breeze.

The first qrt today was basically the major factor for our loss and the overall structure set up from Ratten &co was sub-standard.
We have a game plan that is becoming easy for opposition teams to flood our attack and make it difficult for Fevola, we need to be more attacking take more risks via the middle rather chipping so much across half back.

Still waaaaaaaay too early to be calling for Ratten's head.
But looking at our list compared to other teams, finals is a minimum.
Anything less then questions should be asked.

I'm starting to be a little concerned about the direction Ratten is going. He doesn't have enough tricks or ideas in the bag at this stage, still a young in terms of coaching ability so he definitely needs time but i don't think he has instilled much confidence.

I agree RE, finals is a minimum, anything less and there is major cause for concern.

Live in Adelaide and know the Crows all too well. They are an average team with an average coach. And they SMASHED us. Nothing up forward, nothing in the midfield and perplexed looks from the box. I don't blame Ratts alone but the coaching panel looks out of its depth at times. Where to now ? Resurrect Parko as match day assistant or mentor as they tried with Britts?

There are growing amount of calls and txts to SEN from Carlton calling for Ratten's head, and even Scotty West this morning payed out on Ratts, saying he was really out-coached by Craig yesterday (and West has a brilliant football brain IMHO)

On the other side of the coin, most of the text messages were probably from the same people writing on here and Wayne Schwass laughed it off telling Carlton supporters to just be patient.

I don't think anyone disagrees he was outcoached on the weekend but when we're getting into Terry's stats we can panic.

Notice when he's in the box he's always asking the assistant coaches what to do cos he has no idea himself. We got an assistant coach as our head coach and the sooner Carlton realise that the better.
