Good to see him front the media :thumbsu:

he said that he hopes that we can do what west coast did this year.. next year"

Should we take anything from that ?

well here's hoping. astbury, martin, grimes, post could all steo it up another level. but really dids being a permanent mid, and becoming more consistent would help a ton

Re: Bretts Interview before the game

Means Benny Gale has fronted the players and told them to ensure that the players talk about what is possible next year for memberships next year rather than lamenting about this year.

Corporate stuff.

That he's staying loyal to the club. :thumbsu:

Not really, but hope is all they have at the moment.

Unfortunately, I can't see us obtaining a Cox, Glass and Le Cras overnight.

Give it a couple years though, and who knows...

Not too much I think we can take from that, the Eagles were fortunate to have players like Embley, Cox, Kerr and Glass that had tasted success in the past and were just down on form or injured for the majority of their time at the bottom. Its no coincidence that their recent success has coincided with the good form of these players.

Add to this the depth the team has suddenly got with the emergence of Shuey, Gaff, Ebert, NicNat and Selwood (S) and they are going to be a force for the next few years. Put last year down to a bad year for them.

As for us, we have the potential and talent to be a good side but we need the hunger and desire to succeed. If we can recruit either a ruckman or a KPD this trade period we might be able to be compeitive in the areas of the ground we have been found out so much this year.

If we could give first use to Cotch, Martin, Foley and Deledio we would be pretty hard to beat. Jack at 100% would also be handy. We have reason to be optomistic, we just need the club to validate this by doing the right thing in the off season.

Good post.

So many people, even supposed experts, completely overlooking the fact that nearly all of WCE gun veterans were missing last year. They were always going to have a big impact if they came back fit this year, especially Cox, Glass and Kerr.

As you say, if we do the right thing and improve our list by 10-20% each year for two more years, minimum, then we'll be a different side in 2013, once we have the right guys in the right age bracket leading the team on field.
