I have to mention what a great crowd turned up for a game against an interstate club, 15th on the ladder, at the outset.
I watched via the net and the crowd (38,000) seemed much larger and certainly sounded very much larger.

Testimony to our great supporter base really.

All you who went to the game give yourselves a pat on the back.:thumbsu:

Pat on Back.:D:D

It was a good crowd, but I believe it was so big because it was the only chance for Melbourne based pies fans to see their team in a 5 week period.

It is almost 5 weeks from the Melbourne game on QB to the Stkilda game next Saturday, and the only game in Melbourne for the pies was Saturday night against WCE.

Obviously every pies supporter who could get there was there, because it was a rare chance to see our side live (unless you travel interstate).

The bonus of the "vacant" mid season draw is that our last 7 games are at the MCG.:thumbsu:

i thought 38,000 was a horrid turn out the lowest i've ever been to since i went to pies west coast at vic park in 1998. Mind you only started to go to the footy frequently in 06 and even then i dont go to every match as i prefer watching the footy on tv.

The place looked chocker on the TV and sounded fantastic.

I thought the crowd was good.
To my surprise, there were a lot of West Coast supporters at the game.
I go every week - but this game did not excite me one little bit. I don't care about winning against a side that is on the bottom.
I would rather beat Carlton or similar every week. :D
I can then have something to cheer about.
No joy in winning against duds.

What? A win is a win. I would take a win over a loss any day of the week and twice on a Sunday. Whoever we play, at any ground, It's always exciting when we win. Gotta admit though, Beating Carlton every week would be kinda nice..

I was also there and enjoyed myself immensly. Good crowd too. Wouldn't expect as many to show had it been some of our Victorian rivals playing against the coasters.

I was there, it was an odd crowd. It looked pretty full but for most of the night there wasn't much atmosphere, save for Didak's brilliance and a HTB decision in the third which seemed to fire everyone up, lol.

Was a Great Crowd Number but I had to many Drunk Young Men around me.

1 was a Eagles Fan Talking Crap and Calling all Pies Fan Idiots and Criminals and then a Young Pies Fan got Stuck into him and the Eagles saying how Crap they are now and Getting Stuck into him and Could of been a Fight.

The Eagles fan told me I had Issues.

Worst Crowd I been in all Year:mad:

Flying the flag DT. You know you love it.:D:thumbsu:

I was there and I thought the crowd was great as well. Any other side playing west coast at etihad would have resulted in about half as many people showing up.

The crowd wasn't particularly loud until the 3rd quarter I thought, but that was just because the game was kinda dull, until didak lit it up. The roar when he kicked his 3rd was as loud as any though.

Definitely one of the most one-sided crowds i've seen. looked to be about 50 weagles supporters there lol.

Pat Pat Pat HAHAHA
Seriously it was 10,000 more than i had thought it would have been.

*pat on back*
Too right, i didn't even think it would hit 30,000.

Congrats to all the pies supporters.

38,781 to be exact. Compared to the last time Collingwood played Eagles at Docklands in 2006, when the Eagles were at the top, not the bottom, of the ladder - 38,777. So we beat it by 4! :)

:D i made a difference!
I didn't go to the one in '06 but i went last week and bought three mates along with me.

Me + 3 = Did i help beat the record?

lol.

100% agree with you. There wasn't much of an atmosphere.
I like to look at things objectively.
Everyone carries on how our supporters are idiots etc.
Our supporters are very well behaved compared to say - Carlton, Hawthorn and St.Kilda supporters.
That mob are like hyenas.
I know because I go to a lot of neutral games and can tell the difference how loud they are and how they carry on compared to us.
Everyone hates us because there are so many of us.
