Richmond's obsession with the Lions is pretty adorable. Watching for 30+ years on the sidelines as we waltzed to an epic three-peat and have premiership champions guiding our side to finals glory once again in the near future. OP is obviously a closet Lions fan just trying to find out more about the team.

The Tiggers would be stuffed :\ We have a unit full of great players who might not be top 1 picks, but together form a team capable of dismantling whatever is ahead of us. Redden's 'going to be better than Cotchin'? They're the same age. Redden's a good player, he might be your best - one day, if not now. But he's not in the same stratosphere as Cotchin.

There are some things that will only ever be found in the bay. Someone actually trying to argue that Chris Yarran is a better footballer than Daniel Rich is the actual definition of that.

Also, I wasn't aware that kicking goals from outside 50 is easier when you're playing the bottom sides. Must be the shorter fields.

We have a unit full of great players who might not be top 1 picks, but together form a team capable of dismantling whatever is ahead of us.

That pretty much sums up my "best player" answer. The 3R's are on a pretty equal par and are very dangerous when on song. Claye Beams, Polec, Docherty and Zorko will all have breakout years (if you discount the amazing year Zorko has already had).

We don't have one 'superstar' player, at least not right now. We will have 3 by seasons end with consistent, solid performances from Rich, Redden and Rockliff. If any of these players played for a Melbourne based team they would be talked up a hell of a lot more.

Lol. Anyone who wasn't trying to put together a desperate argument could see that Gold Coast were gifted that game by the umpires. Since then we have beaten them by 62 points, 65 points and 11 points respectively. Better than you flogs could do

Our equivalent of yarran is Pearce Hanley. Difference is that Hanley is a better player, and we got him for nothing.

Rich had an ordinary couple of years after winning the rising star, but he really stepped up in the second half of last season.
One of the most damaging ball users in the comp, no one in their right mind would prefer a talented but inconsistent HBFer who's a defensive liability to him.
