The true test of golf starts tonight on Fox from 6pm.
Great to see players actually challenged by a course, rather than the usual "whoever hits the best short iron wins" of the PGA tour.

Any thoughts from our golf regulars?
Have enjoyed the Tour De France thread with the input from posters.

Huge range of punting options available too.
FWIW,I like Stenson & Poulter to make the cut & have had a little at $55/$75 Betfair, expecting them to trim up if they do.

Have to drive the ball straight around Carnoustie and thats why i like Jim Furyk. He is $9 for top American and with Woods' only weakness at times is his driving accuracy and Mickleson with similar problems i think $9 is great value. He tied 10th last time they played at Carnoustie.

Of the Australians Adam Scott at $4.00 for top Aussie. Played well in the British Open last year and if he putts well should be right up there.

Top European golfer i like Niclas Fasth at $8.00. Has been in really good form over the last couple of months and hopefully it will continue.

Couldn't agree more Seth. Much better than the "pitch and putt" comp on the PGA Tour - even if the camera work resembles the ABC doing the cricket back in the 70s.

As for me, I have had a bit on Vijay @ $26 as he not only drives it straight, he uses his driver all the time so might give him an advantage if manages to hit the fairways as he usually does. Plus he has been practising on the course every day for the past fortnight so should have most holes worked out.

Also had a little bet on Sergio & Poulter to win despite no European having won a major this century - guess that has to change soon.

Tend to do most of my golf betting (especially in Europe) overnight after the first days play as reckon the blokes who played in the afternoon on a Thursday may have an advantage over others on the same score as they tee off in the morning on the Friday before the winds kick up.

Really just try to have a couple running for me on Sat night and then can put a couple of savers on
