What a joke! The AFL is perpetuating this pushing the man into contests bullshit practice by not snuffing it out with some firm action like:

1. Push the man into a contest, no concussion, you can take a 2 week holiday.
2. Push the man into a contest, concussion/injury, you can take a..... forget it we know the answer.

By taking a softly softly approach the AFL is not mitigating the risk of concussion in these types of actions. Issuing a $1500 fine to players who are on north of $400K is like me throwing some loose change into a poker machine.

They are really taking the piss with their supporters. It would be funny if a player sued the AFL for a concussion/injury as a result of being pushed into a contest. I could see the AFL being laughed out of court by arguing they tried to stamp the practice out by handing out (piddling) fines.
