Spekaing of which, why are the TrailBlazers struggling so much. So much potential, yet they are not gelling. Why?

Yeah your right i forgot about the Blazers two years ago...that team choked real bad and should have beaten the Lakers in 7...pity they didnt.

Well Portland have just started to turn it around recently, there back to there winning ways and should make the playoffs. But with the amount of talent they have (Wallace, Davis, Stoudamire, Pippen, Wells, Anderson, Kemp) they should really be up there this season with the likes of LA, Sacramento, San Antonio, Dallas and Minnesota....

I think is it too much talent on one team. Everybody wants there shots....Anderson and Wells are in there own little battle to see who really should be starting, Pippen is the only one not taking shots when he should be the one they go to in the 4th...Stoudamire one minute is HOT, the next he is nowhere to be seen....the team is all over the place. One of Wells or Anderson has to go, i would rather Wells but they will keep Anderson seen as they traded away Smith for him, and they need to find a set starting 5 and get guys into a normal rotation. Some nights Anderson starts and plays 40 minutes the next night he comes off the bench and plays just 15 minutes. Its obvious why this team isnt gelling. However they should make the playoffs and whoever they get first round im sure they will provide a tough contest.

Rasheed Wallace has also been linked to trades, maybe to Washington...

They remind me a bit of Houston in '95, when the Rockets limped into the playoffs as 6th seed with a 46-36 record. They then proceeded to sweep all before them and won the championship.

If a team with talent, limps into the playoffs but suddenly starts to gel, all hell can break loose, and perhaps the Blazers can be that team this year. Imagine if they start to gel and they are the 8th seed playing the top seeded Lakers? (for example.) Win-loss records really mean nothing come play-off time, because all 16 teams are effectively treated equally.

Go Portland! ;)

Yeah no doubt about it!! Portland are the deepest team in the West and if they gel at the right time they could beat anybody. I mean just look how deep they go...

Davis
Wallace
Pippen
Wells
Stoudamire
Anderson
Kemp
Patterson

All quality players...compare that to the Lakers that can go maybe 5 deep, Shaq, Kobe, Fox, Horry and Fisher...??

But if they dont come together and play like a team they will easily be swept aside. I think a big problem for the team is Scottie Pippen, he should be the go to guy and although he is playing almost 40 mins a night every night he takes maybe 4 or 5 shots a game .... that is just. Scottie should be taking at least 15 shots a game, he is still there most talented and experienced player. They should really run some plays for him and get him involved in the game more.
